Default dressing for dinner - Grandeur RCI, 7 night

I know in the past on Cruises that they say no "shorts" in the diningroom. Well, I was wondering if its appropriate to wear very dressy shorts, a little flared with a nice short sleeved sweater type top and sandals...no nylons instead of dress pants every night?

I will wear a dress and nylons for capt. dinner but would like to be more casual but looking nice, not sloppy on other nights.

You are right it says NO shorts in the dining room. Now I have an outfit that is actually shorts, but long as a skirt and when I either stand or sit it looks like a skirt. I have worn this to dinner a few times and no one has stopped me. But I must reiterate it doesn't look like shorts. If the shorts you are describing are really just that shorts, I wouldn't wear them. A nice sundress without nylons would work well too and they are really comfortable.

Enjoy your cruise.

thanks for the input Tweety. I bought two nice dresses, nothing really fancy but nice for the two formal nights and a sundress, couple skirts for other nights. No Nylons! HA
Cute little sexy sandals though.
