We have used them on our last several trips. We have the kind that you roll/push the air out. Have used them mostly for underwear and tee shirts going to a trip. Great for packing dirty clothes (bring the big ones empty) on the return trip home.
Just returned from RCL AOS cruise on 9/10. Fabulous ship!!! I ordered the Pack-Max 7 pc. Variety Pack from HSN and really loved them on this trip. I put t shirts. underwear, shorts, socks, jersey items, etc and they work great! I simply filled them and sat on them to get the air out. The items were not at all that wrinkled. I actually think because they cannot move around at all keeps less wrinkles from setting. I'll use them from now on. We were gone for 11 days and packed everything in 2 large suitcases and 1 carryon.
My friend used them on her trip to the orient.....they helped as the luggage restrictions are huge...she brought a down coat that squished down to nothing....they're great. The clothes?????not great, so you have them pressed, no big deal.
I bought a set of Pack Max's as well from QVC.com
I found I could pack all my bathing suits, cover ups, wind type shorts and underwear in one of the small ones (basically things you don't care if they wrinkle).
A friend of mine who can't bear to travel anywhere without her pillow uses the larger ones to squish it down to nothing.
I think before we leave (about 4 weeks) I'm going to give the Pack Max's a rehearsal, with tshirts and shorts that I don't want to wrinkle, to see how they work. If it doesn't turn out well, then I'll take them empty and use them to bring back dirty clothes!
I just bought a set of them on qvc.com. The price of the pack-mates was cheaper on qvc then on the packmates website.
I was also wondering about security. If you are selected for the checked baggage screen do they have to open all the bags up or do they just look at them, since they are clear bags. I have tried the ziplock bags and they didn't work to well, except for things like shampoo and sun screen.
