Trans-Atlantic Cruise
Help! Leaving NYC on Pacific Princess on Oct 27 to Bermuda, The Azores then to Lisbon, Barcelona, French Riviera, Florence & Rome. What kind of weather can I expect? I'm getting mixed messages from people who have been to some of these places. Some say hot & humid, others say cool & rainy. Temps are in the 70's today in the Med. area but how about the first 2 weeks in Nov? Anyone been there, done that. My 1st trip to Europe. Any advice? Thanks much.

Re: Trans-Atlantic Cruise
EKC ...

Here's a really simple exercise.

Get out your world atlas.

Look at the latitudes you will be visiting and the same latitudes in the US on the east coast. That should tell you most of what you want/need to know.

Nobody can predict the weather but I think hot and humid is NOT likely, even in Bermuda.

Expect your crossing to be on the chilly side.

The one thing to take is what I call a "wrinkle suit" ... those nylon jobs that are pants and jacket, flannel-lined. They can go over other clothes, be worn alone, whatever. And they are pre-wrinkled for your packing pleasure.

Sounds like a great itinerary. I don't love the Azores, but the ports will be welcome land after your crossing.

Re: Trans-Atlantic Cruise
EKC, being from the European side of the pond, I can tell you that in the southern part of Europe the weather is at this moment between 15 and 20 C during the day and nice cool nights.
The only thing you surely can expect is rain, take a small travel umbrella with you or a plastic poncho.

Enjoy your transatlantic crossing and I hope you have a great time in Europe. :))
