Can anyone help with RCCL Radiance excursions ? Atlantis Submarine in Barbados, Jolly Roger in Antigua? Rent a car or take a taxi in St.Maarten? Any input on these or any better ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Pat

Pat,

When are you sailing on the Radiance of the Sea? We are on Dec. 7, 2002 out of SanJuan. Would also like some info on excursions.

Barb

pat 02,

Shore excursions depend a lot upon your personal tastes and your likes and dislikes. That said, I can make a few recommendations.

>> The "five star catamaran" expeditions usually are pretty good, and are available in several ports of call. They generally include lunch aboard the catamaran and a stop for swimming and snorkeling.

>> In Barbados, the excursion called "Orchid World and Tea at Sunbury Plantation" is excellent. Orchid World is fascinating -- they have more varieties of orchids growing in more weird ways than you could ever imagine. The tour continues on to Sunbury Plantation, where there's a tour of the plantation's Great House followed by a very proper British tea served on a patio behind the Great House.

>> In Antigua, the exersion to Nelson's Dockyard is particularly worthwhile. Nelson's Dockyard is just what the name implies -- a shipyard that Lord Nelson built to service his fleet back when the Royal Navy was fighting priates and piracy throughout the Caribbean. It's now a historical site, but many of the original shops are again operational serving boaters and visitors who come by.

Have a great cruise!

Norm.

St. Maarten I would take a taxi. They can take you on a tour and drop you where you want.
