Default zip bags for bulky clothes

Does anyone know if those zip bags, which you roll bulky clothes in to compress them into smaller pieces to pack, work like they are supposed to? (What an awkward sentence!) If so, do you know where to buy them? I know I''ve seen them advertised somewhere. Also, what do you call them so I don't have to go through the "those zip bags, which you roll bulky clothes in to compress them into smaller pieces to pack" routine? Thanks in advance!

They're called Space Bags. See post lower down in this forum.
The title is "space bags?".

I've seen the "space bags" at Bed Bath & Beyond. I am sure that all stores are not layed out the same, but they where in the main isle just as you walk into the store.

The one's I got are called packmates. I got them from QVC.com. They were cheaper on QVC then on the Packmates.com website.
So far my testing of them has been great. I haven't used to pack for vacation yet but when I tried them out with sweaters it really reduced the amount of space needed.

Just make so you are ordering the ones that you roll the air out of, there are ones that you vaccum the air out of.

I just buy the 2.5 gallon ziplock bags. They work great and they are much cheaper then those designed for packing. The only place that I have been able to find them around here is at Target. I pack everything in them - even things that I don't need to compress like shoes and lotions just to keep things from getting on each other. I love having them to put everything in after we have been to the beach to keep the sand off of everything else! I hope this helps!
