Please don't laugh....
I think I know the answer already but thought I'd ask..... A Sept 15 cruise to the Carib.,would be too early to wear black velvet, right??? I found a beautiful top today with satin collar & trim, sheer sleeves , velvet bodice. Originally $50., reduced to $10. I couldn't pass it up, I'll save it for next winter.

I have 2 black velvet dresses and I wore both on the May cruise. I saw many women in velvet. Go for it! Enjoy! Char

sounds beautiful, you could pair it with black crepe dress trousers or a black crepe or silk skirt and it would be fine. What a deal!

That sounds just like a formal top that I own! Wear it with the black formal skirt or pants and you will look elegant.

As the only guy to respond, I vote for velvet ANY time. Classy and elegant. If not proper on a cruise, where?????? Wear it and stand ready to be held in awe and adoration. :-)
Happy kruzin'

Mary,
No, I'd for sure wear the black velvet, in fact I usually always take some black velvet for one of the "formal" nights. Go ahead and plan on wearing that, sounds perfect!
