Default Tuxedo tails for formal night?

My husband owns a tuxedo but it is tails. I think this is overdoing it for formal night but he doesn't want to rent another tux when he has this one. I welcome any and all comments. If most of you say NO.....he won't take them Sailing on Sun Princess t
10 day Eastern Carib.

I think it's perfectly OK (and would look very smart). I would say on Princess about 25 percent of men are in tuxes.

One option would be to just purchase a white dinner jacket instead and use the rest of the existing ensemble.

Tails are a bit much on a cruise,,,unless you're in the shows..;-) I'd go with a different coat. IMHO.

plain tuxes are the general rule when it comes to cruises. I hate to say that but i think that tails would be a bit much, tails are very rare on a cruise. Does hubby have a really nice dark suit? that would be fine. Renting a tux from the cruise is really cheap ( for little more than the cost of a really fine dress shirt & silk tie) he would have a clean-pressed tux with tie & studs for the entire cruise

I don't see a problem with tails. If you guys are that self consious about it, a dark suite will suffice.

Tails are too much! He will be the only person in tails. Just rent a dinner jacket to go with his pants.
