We went out and bought two new suits for hubby last night. I originally wanted double breasted but they didn't have any! We were told that the three button suits are really popular right now but you only button the top two buttons. Has anyone else heard about this?
I must admit hubby hasn't had a new suit for about 7 years so we just had to trust to the salesman. What fun. Actually it was quite a bit of fun.

The salesman is correct. When my husband bought a suit recently he was told the same thing. Double-breasted are out. Stay with the classics like a 3-button.
My husband purchased a nice 3-button black suit, white tuxedo shirt and black bow tie and you know he looks like he has on a tux. He then can wear the suit with a nice white shirt with French cuffs (cufflinks) for another night and then a nice shirt and matching tie if there's a third formal night.
He also, never owned a suit, but I'm so glad he bought it, he looks great and I'm not stressed out anymore regarding formal night.
And to boot, he bought a great pair of dress shoes at Marshall's for $20. I wish I had that luck in shopping.
Tasha,
My boyfriend is a banker/broker and has his suits tailored. All of his "fashion" suits are 3 button. He has also reccomended to all of his friends getting married that they rent 3 button tuxes. he's very fashion savy because first impressions are such a big part of his business. I think you and your husband made a great choice. I think the 3 button suits are so HOT! And the 3rd button rule is correct.... ENJOY your man!
Well we picked the suits up yesterday and he looks great in them. He wore one to work today to try and shock his coworkers (he works in an office but normaly just wears slacks and a shirt). A few of them think he is going to a job interview! lol.
