Default First Time Cruiser

I am going on the Royal Caribbean Seranade of the Sea on September 25th,2003 out of New York.
Just wanted to know what type of clothing to bring this time of year. Do I need something really formal for this cruise. What is the best thing to do in Halifax?

Any ideas PLEASE!

Thank you,

Time of year does not affect the cruise wardrobe formality. Formal nights Tux or dark Suit for him, Gown, Cocktail/Evening dress or outfit including formal pants ensemble for her. Informal is Sport Coat, Shirt w/ tie and slacks for him; dress, nice pants suit for her. Smart Casual; dockers and sport shirt for him, Pantsuit, slacks, casual dress for her. No jeans in the evening. For New England, you will want a light jacket as mornings will be cool and it is apt to rain occassionally.
The best thing to do at Halifax, is to take a tour that includes Peggy's Cove. It is typical New England. Does that voyage stop in Boston?
Bon Voyage

Pat as Nan said formal is formal no matter where your cruise is headed. Think of something that you would wear to an evening wedding , or for a night out on the town. A long dress is always good, a long dark skirt w/ a dressy top -a hint of sparkle always works or perhaps a brocade jacket. Dressy flowing chiffon or silk pants with a sparkly top or brocade jacket is great also, a dressy cocktail dress or dress suit works also. I would bring a light jacket, sweater and a sweatshirt for excursions, don't forget to pack some shorts & your bathing suit, NE can get really warm in September. Rain gear is a good idea also. Good walking sneakers
