ok, i have the dress now the dilema is what type of evening bag to go with it. The dress is a slightly sparkly long navy blue halter style and i am looking for some suggestions for an evening bag. Thanks, LisaK

Fine dress ! Either silver either black evening purse, strapped or not, as you like it .. You will never find the same navy blue, the same fabric .

No no no...not black w/ navy blue! How about silver or gold? What color are the sparkles?

I agree with Kar, not black! Claires usually has lil evening bags that go with formal wear for cheap!

I also veto the black and think the navy would be too hard to match.

My first choice would be a silver bag and silver sandals unless the sparkles on the dress are gold.

I like that idea too Andee

Sorry Anne, but black with navy blue is one of my biggest fashion pet peeves!

ok ladies, the dress is a dark navy with the sparkle pattern being a lighter shade of navy. I have a navy wrap that i wear with it. I thought about the silver bag, but my jewlery is gold & diamonds, and eeegadds, i wear black peau de soie sling-backs with a single black beading around the vamp, they are a perfect companion to this particular dress.

well if you are wearing black shoes with a navy blue dress, you might as well carry a black bag to match the shoes.

Personally, I agree with Kar. To me, black and blue makes a good bruise but thats about it, lol.

Good luck!

A few words extra ... With a formal evening navy dress/gown, when gloves are worn they are either matching the dress same fabric or matching color), either white, either black, the most common, the purse matches the gloves, so black is not a bad choice, since you have already gold/diamonds jewellry.. But maybe you can find the same navy color too ... Anne
