I've read a number of passenger ship reviews lately and people have complained because their luggage wasn't in their cabin as soon as they boarded or it took three hours to be delivered. First time cruisers take note and you'll be much happier if you know this ahead of time! We have been on six cruises ( going on our seventh this Saturday ) on three different cruise lines and our luggage has never been in our cabin upon boarding and usually arrives anywhere from 3-6 hours later. Be prepared and wear what you wnat to wear the whole day before you board or bring a change of clothes in a carry-on. Don't count on your luggage arriving anytime soon after boarding. We live in the South now, but when we lived in Minnesota and traveled to Mexico or the Caribbean twice every winter, we always wore our shorts on the plane and left our heavy coats and sweaters in our car.at the airport. Nothing worse than winter woolies in the tropics:-)
that is totally correct, don't expect your luggage to be in your stateroom when you board. You should have it by dinner time. Its just physically impossible. Think about it. Travel in clothes that you can wear to dinner or pack a change in your carry-on.
You know (knock on wood) we have never had a problem with the cases getting to us before dinner. We usually get 'em I would say within an hour and a half of boarding. Of course, we usually arrive on the early side, rather than closer to departure time.
