Ok, its the caribbean in April do we really need a sweatshirt or light jacket in the evening at sea? I just can't see it getting that chilly but I have never been there. So let me know sweatshirts and jackets take up luggage room.
We sailed in January tothe Bahamas and it wasn't the OUTDOOR temps that got to me it was inside! I was freezing all the time. The air conditioned was really cranked up. I brought some casual sweaters, but nothing for nights and was I ever sorry.
Just gives me a good excuse to buy some pretty little dressy jackets.

Our general rule of thumb is to pack something light weight whether it's needed or not. Here is why...my hubby and I went to Playa del Carmen, Mexico about a year ago. he asked me when packing whether we needed a jacket or not. To this, I gave him a strange look and answered him "we are going to Mexico...whoever heard of Mexico being cold"? Well...the temps got up to a lovely 75 degrees at its hottest and in the evenings it got down to a verrrrrry cool 60. Enough said, since then we have always and will always pack some type of jacket or sweat shirt...one never knows! even the locals said this doesn't happen "it's always warmer!"
i usually pack a light sweater or lightweight linen/ cotton blazer that will go with all of my outfits- yes it can get chilly outside( sea breeze) and inside (at night ) will wear a zip front sweatshirt for traveling to and home from the cruise, one less thing to pack, but you have it if you need it.
