I never see it on these boards, but my favorite tip for traveling for years is bringing address labels. You know the sticker address labels you get in junk mail from charities or other organizations looking for a donation.
When I pack, I seal all bottles and cans with the stickers so flip tops and can tops don't accidentally open up in your luggage. Bring a bunch of extras for when you pack to come home. They're easy to remove and save you from the hassle of shampoo or hairspray getting all over your luggage.
And they come in handy as luggage labels, filling out forms, or you can stick them on a piece of paper to give to cruisemates you want to keep in touch with.
Great tip - thankyou. I have one for u too - suggest u place all items that leak or can inside zip-lock bags (and add a few scrunched up kleenexs or paper towels too just in case). Works for me and I have had the odd bottle (both glass & plastic) crack and break and also leak but no damage outside...Sometimes I even double bag if I have multiple stops (luggage handling) before arrival....Happy cruisin'!
I go the ziplock path also. Baby oil has been my nightmare. I always carry some with me and it always leaks inside the zip lock. Have bought babyoil gel this time. Will give that a try and let you all know how it works.
Only short month to go till we "GET LEI'D" again on Serenade of the Seas and then the countdown for Thanksgiving on Victory begins.
