Default Dressing For Dinner

First time cruiser here and am totally lost at what to where for dinner. Am going on Carnival Inspiration (Western Carribean) in August. I ordered some dresses through Victorias Secret catalog, and even though they look great, I am just not sure whether they are dressy enough. One is described as a 'cutaway racerback dress". I ordered it black. It is just above the knee, form fitting and kind of 'halter looking' front. The other is a very long (between knee and ankle) tight fitting kind of low cut tank top with a full sweeping bottom. The other is just a kind of sleeveless knit polo dress (navy). They are all a cotton/spandex blend. I love the dresses and am going to keep them regardless , but would like some input as to whether these are appropriate for dinner.
Also, being summer, is it OK to go without hose?

The dresses sound fine. It's up to you whether or not you want to wear the hose. I didn't. When I was on the Inspiration in April I didn't notice many women wearing hose.

Your dresses sound beautiful and will be perfect. It is oftentimes quite chilly in the dining room and the theatre. I bought a beautiful shawl that dressed up my outfits AND kept me warm!

Sounds fine to me to. Carnival is not a fancy of cruiseline. Your sleeveless knit polo will be perfect for one of the casual nights. Dont know about formal, not seeing them. Hope you have fun.

Hose are always optional, especially in the tropics. If you need the hose to control your tummy to fit into the dresses, that's a different issue.

both of the black outfits sound fine, dress them up with a pair of high-heeled dress shoes or strappy sandals, a bit of sparkle in your ears and around your neck, do you hair & make-up and you are all set. Save the polo dress for casual nights. You might want to pick up a lacy sweater, or a wrap especially for the halter dress, it can get cool in the dining rooms and sometimes out on deck at night.
As for the hose, i personally think that dark ultra-sheer hose really dresses up and finishes off an outfit.
