Default Ladies What would you think?

Hi,

Just wanted your true answer to this question.

I'm cruising in June and yes, I know it's early to be thinking about getting my packing list but, I wanted your advise.

I have several fancy, sparkle tops etc., well you ladies get the idea. Most have black designs etc.

If you were sitting with me at the table and I wore black slacks with different tops every night would you think I was wearing the same pair of slacks every night ( I would be of course "not" cause I'd take 3 pairs of dress slacks) to exchange with all the tops and then a couple of summer dresses with a light weight over jacket, summer sweater for the other nights, + the formal wear for the formal nights.

Hope I've made sense.
Thanks for your help.

SOUNDS FINE TO ME, EVEN IF YOU HAD THE SAME PAIR OF PANTS, YOU WOULD ONLY WEAR THEM TO DINNER AND NOT ALL DAY.....

I wouldn't worry about it unless you were wearing my pants - lol. Think about men's suits - they get dry cleaned how often? And, as Paulett said, you aren't in them more than a couple of hours. Heck - I would just take the one pair and leave more room for shopping :o). By the way - I think sparkly tops are great - very dressy - good enough for formal nights. Enjoy your cruise - ttfn Jennifer

I honestly don't think anyone would even notice....remember, once you are sitting down, no one will even see your pants.

Thanks gals, I just had to ask you know how some people can be. I think I'll take 2 pairs just in case.

I'm so looking forward to this cruise, it's a girl's away from the hubby's, kids and grandkids cruise.

Something we've want to do for a long time. We are baby boomer's and hope to have the time of our life.

This will be my first of RCI, been on Carnival 3 times. From what I read the Mariner is a nice ship so this will be a new experience for me.

Since I've been on several Carnival ship I found them easy to get around and by the second cruise felt at home. So learning a new ship will be fun.

Thanks again
Sherry

I mix and match throughout the whole cruise. On non-formal nights, I wear long sundresses (I guess that's what they're called, but they're not something I'd wear to the beach or around the pool) with a dressy sandal and I've even been known to wear them twice during a cruise! OH MY!

Anyway, less to pack. For a 7 night cruise.........the evening wear that I pack: 2 formal outfits, 3 sundresses (and 2 are worn twice).

I would not want to have to pack 14 different outfits (7 for day, 7 for night), plus beachwear, shoes, toiletries, etc.......... There is always laundry service or self service laundry if you need it.

No right and wrong here, just do want you want to do.

i don't see it as a problem. I get more than one nights wear out of a pair of pants, most veteran cruisers do!

As a college student, I def. wear my pants more than once. No sense washing them after one time if they aren't dirty!

I strongly agree with everyone If you pack something different for every night, you'll need a steamer trunk to get onboard! Heck... if someone's that offended by your black pants.... they really don't have to look at them <lol>

I pack a pair of black dress pants and a black skirt and mix and match tops. Half the time I can't remember what I wore two days ago, never mind what someone else wore. I really don't think anyone will notice.

Take one of something else in addition to the black pants, especially if you think anyone will be looking at you! Sometimes you just are not in the black pants mode and it is nice to have a more colorful option!

I have done that with a long, black tank dress-- two different tops and I'm sure no one noticed. This year I have been FORCED (lol) to get a whole new wardrobe, due to a recent weight loss. I have hit the jackpot in formal wear with a new sparkly pantsuit, a flouncy-hemmed black chiffon dress with black, sheer, poncho-type top with pretty screen-printed flowers highlighted with tiny colored beads and a new sparkly top to go with my tank dress. I say "jackpot" because they are all clearance items, saving me over $200. The up-coming cruise is 11 days with 3 formal nights, a first for us.
You'll see a wide variety of clothes on formal night. Pants are just as acceptable as dresses. I have worn dressy black pants with sparkly tops and felt totally comfortable. with everyone else.
Happy Cruising!

I know you wanted ladies opinions about the slacks, but honestly I don't know what anyone else is wearing. I am on that cruise for myself and to have a great time. It is vacation and who really cares if someone wheres the same pair of pants all week, I mean if you are sweating and rolling around in the dirt and you can tell they're dirty well then you have a problem, but from a guys point of view who cares, have fun and don't worry about what other people think, You probally wont see them again and if you do they wont remember what you wore but the way that you treated them.

For all you ladies out there that message I just typed was deep. My girlfriend will be so proud of me. lol

Just got back and did the same thing you are talking about. If someone noticed they sure didn't speak up.

I would think you had seen my cruise wardrobe! I have dressy black pants and dressy black pants that looks like a long skirt...I have tons of sparkly tops that I wear with them.I think its smart to mix and match.

It's never too early to start thinking about what to wear on a cruise. I'm not leaving until October and I think about it every day!!:>))

I do the mix and match, too. I *did* notice that the last time I packed my glittery tops and forgot to put them in dry cleaner bags there was glitter EVERYWHERE.

It drove my teenager crazy because he was brushing pieces of glitter off his navy blazer the whole cruise at dinner!! .

Black is my favorite color, so I never get tired of it, but I did throw in a couple of cute dresses for variety.

I always bring black pants or skirt in every shape and form. I wear the same pants or skirt at least twice with different tops or jackets.

I have found the store Chico's and now I'm addicted. They have wonderful separates for travelling and I've bought most of them in black to mix and match. Also they don't wrinkle. I like to be comfortable but stylish.

Another alternative is to do all black and then take a nice colorful scarf and work it around your neck and shoulders...pinsare in style so use them to hold them in place.

The more you cruise and travel the more creative you become with your clothes.

Just wanted to thank all of you for all the good advise and now I feel more at ease by taking the 2 pair and the mix & match tops for the dining room.

Thanks,
Sherry

"I have found the store Chico's and now I'm addicted."

That made me laugh. I have been addicted to Chico's for 3 years! In fact, I have planned 7 dinner outfits for a 10 day cruise with ALL Chico clothes! They roll up nicely for packing and NEVER WRINKLE! The mixing and matching cannot be beat!
