We ate there a few nights this last trip and wore shorts sometimes at dinner. If its a formal night though, you may feel a little out of place wandering around in shorts while others are in tuxes (although we often changed into less formal clothes after dinner anyways).
It's been quite a while since we were on a Windjammer sailing, but to my recollection, Windjammer is TOTALLY C-A-S-U-A-L. I'm talkin' swimsuits at dinner, which is around a wooden table.
Maybe someone on this post thinks Windjammer is a restaurant?? And, after dinner, it was dancin' on deck with a reggae grou -- Christmas lites strung from the masts, shorts, no shoes, whatever you wanted to wear. Has it changed so muchi??
I think the poster is talking about the Windjammer (buffet restaurant), NOT a Windjammer Barefoot Cruise.

I think anything goes in the windjammer. The food is much better in the dining room so we mostly eat there. The one time we ate in the windjammer was a day we stayed too late in port so we didn't have time to change for dinner.
Might get flamed for this one, but here's the deal.
Anything goes in the Windjammer Buffet on RCCL. I made a bet with my family that I could go a day without shoes on our last cruise, we all had just been through a stressful time and the vacation was a must!
I put on running shoes in the morning to keep the weight gain in single digits and the balance of the day I never touched a shoe. Ate all three meals in the Windjammer, danced the night away under the stars on the Lido deck late at night with my wife and then went to bed. Two Hawaiian print shirts, two khaki shorts and a couple of showers later the day was over!
Life's too short to worry about what someone else wears, eats, votes for, or selects for vacation options.
I know this question was about Windjammer, but last month in Carmen Dining room at dinner, we were told the only restriction was no tank tops for men, any time of the day. (which in my opinion should be a rule in life, most just look nasty on men ) Some wore jeans and shorts, most wore casual
BL- Public bathrooms no shoes?, that just gives me the heebie jeebies thinking about that.
Just double checking, I don't know whether the "Carmen" is the main dining room or buffet, but I was under the impression tank tops were okay on men in the Windjammer at breakfast or lunch, I thought the only rule was no swimsuits. Anybody?
