Default Hockey Tape-Ladies must read this!

For ladies that have evening gowns that you can't wear a bra, try clear Hockey Tape. It's cheap and really works. Just tape from outside... to outside. My daughter has done many pageants and it works like a charm.

You can stop giggling now, it really works!

DeeDee - that might work for the "young and perky" crowd but we "older and saggier well-endowed" might need the hockey sticks or the net lol. TTFN Jennifer

That is too funny!

By the way, my daughter was also a ice hockey goalie. That's were I came up with the idea! She had a pageant a day before one of her games. She had a shutout (8-0), came off ice and told her team (all boys) that she broke a nail for them!

It doesn't hurt as much as the medical tape others have used! We had to use it b/c couldn't find anything that could be used on multiple gowns. Pageants aren't cheap! Neither is hockey, but the tape is!

Interesting....I'm still trying to envision how this tape thing would work....*raises eyebrow*

(by the way, I am very much a female, albeit a slightly confused one at this point)

lol.

Instructions
Hold one ---- in hand, tape in other.
Put tape on outside ---- , squish together to form cleveage, tape other side!

P.S. works better on the perkier ones or stops the older ones from going places they weren't meant to be!

doesn't it hurt? I need to wear a strapless bra, but would rather do without, but my dress makes me look flat-chested. I had a breast lift a year ago and I am "perky", but I still need a "lift" with this dress. I just think that tape sounds "ouchy".

JoyL - you need to get what i have. Its a strapless, backless, underwire long-line corset. I got mine at Bare Necessities ( go to their web site, same as their name) Its perfect for my low back halter gown.

hazelton

i am laughing so hard im falling out of my chair. the sad part is '''I CAN RELATE SO EASILY TO YOUR REPLIES''''. i dont think the tape would ever work for me. i would have to use so much there wouldnt be enough tape on the roll. and i am allergic to any kind of tape so unfortunatel i would not be able to try it anyway.

dee dee has a wonderful solution for the '' more perky smaller sized ladies '' but for me the corset will have too try to hold everything up and in.

i am so glad we can have fun here and still get great ideas. i would be so bored without this board.

my concern would be with the level of pain required to remove the tape? isn't this a problem?
we do a lot of ballroom dancing, and i probably have 6 diff't types of bra-less solutions, but none of them are comfortable, and it sure would be great to have one solution suitable for all costumes.
i've actually been trying to make sure that i only have to bring one strapless with me, for the cruise, but certainly like the idea of the tape -if it's not too painful to remove

Okay I am sorry but I have to ask? Is the tape side down on your skin? Doesn't that hurt? Also the visual I get looks like an ancient torture procedure! I wish you guys lived near me so that I could see how you do it!? I just bought a low cut criss-crossed thin strapped gown for our cruise and I was thinking that I would probably have to go with no bra, that is until I read your post?!

Oh one more thing, do you tape them together or separtely? Would you not see the tape going across your cleavage? I am so confused!

Where does one buy this hockey tape at?

This was all so funny....I am a big beautiful diva with a DD cup, and for my cruise I got cups sewn into my dress. It worked great and when I sat down they kindof "sat" neatly in the cups, lol ! They do very nice and are so comfy. I am trying to get back into this very dress I wore on our honeymoon cruise in 2002....wish me luck!!! 10 lbs so far, abt. 60 more to go....think I can do it by June???

Hi Butterfly,

Congrats on the 10 lbs! I don't know about 60 lbs (you might be losing too fast), but I'd bet on 40!

I've seen lots of things I'd like to buy, but they didn't have enough support. It never occurred to me to have cups sewn in! Can any tailor do this?

Thanks so much for the idea,

Hey, Fern....I would be happy losing anything!!! My dress did not have cups when I first got it...the bridal shop where I got it did it for me. I swear it is the best thing...cause you are not really going "braless." I assume any dry cleaners or alterations place can do it for you. Maybe you could go to the bridal shop and if they won't sew it in, maybe they can sell you the cups and you could take it somewhere else....good luck!

Fern, any seamstress or tailor should be able to do this for you. The key is in the fit. Have the dress taken in in your rib cage to make it snug, not tight but form-fitting- that will give you some support and then have the cups fitted and sewn into place. You could even have a band of elastic sewn under the cups for extra support if your dress style can handle that.

Default ummmm....

ok, so i get the whole tape thing. and i get the general application procedure. my question is.... do you tape a little lower to avoid the whole "pierced" section or go ahead and tape right across them? i can handle pulling the tape off the regular skin, but god made a certain area a little more sensitive than the rest and i'm not so sure that yanking hockey tape off that sensitive area is a good idea.
