Default ID in luggage/suggestion

Before each cruise and flight, I print several copies of the following info on my computer and put a copy of it in every bag, whether it is checked on or carried on. In addition to the luggage tags, it will help if bags are lost.

Name, address, telephone number (cell and home).
Itinerary (flight and cruise)
Ship name and cabin number

I also put this in my camera bag, fanny pack etc.

Excellent suggestion and one that everyone should follow. Luggage tags can come off and this can be the only way you may ever get your bag back.

Take care,

IF you have extra luggage tags, its a really good idea to attach them to the straps on the inside of your suitcase. Regardless of how you do it, you should have that information inside your luggage somewhere.

I NEVER put my home address on my luggage. Traveling via Ohare airport (Chicago) it is a sure way to get my house robbed. I have had my business cards laminated and punched as luggage tags. I throw a couple extra inside. Then I leave a copy of my travel schedule with my receptionist in case of lost pieces it can catch me.

Marvholly made a great point. On the outside luggage tags i do not put my home address or phone number, i will use my business address, p.o. box #. On the inside tag is where i put my home address & cell number.
