In packing a single carry-on with one day’s clothing for everyone, the question of shoes came up. As we will probably travel to the docks in jeans & sneakers, we wondered what would happen if the checked luggage with the dress and nicer casual shoes is delayed till after dinner. I suppose I could wear the better shoes on the trip down, but we plan on doing a walking tour of San Juan before dinner and the sneakers are more comfortable for walking. If the other shoes don’t show up on time, are Dockers & tennis shoes acceptable in the main dining hall on the first night? Usually I would wear boat shoes or something similar with the Dockers, but I don’t want to have to pack them in the carry-on bag (with a day’s clothing for 4 its pretty full already). I wouldn’t have even considered the question, but after reading these boards over the last month or so I’m developing fashion paranoia.
