Default Shoes on casual nights

In packing a single carry-on with one day’s clothing for everyone, the question of shoes came up. As we will probably travel to the docks in jeans & sneakers, we wondered what would happen if the checked luggage with the dress and nicer casual shoes is delayed till after dinner. I suppose I could wear the better shoes on the trip down, but we plan on doing a walking tour of San Juan before dinner and the sneakers are more comfortable for walking. If the other shoes don’t show up on time, are Dockers & tennis shoes acceptable in the main dining hall on the first night? Usually I would wear boat shoes or something similar with the Dockers, but I don’t want to have to pack them in the carry-on bag (with a day’s clothing for 4 its pretty full already). I wouldn’t have even considered the question, but after reading these boards over the last month or so I’m developing fashion paranoia.

Pretty much anything is accepted in the dining room on the first night - they fully realize that people haven't gotten their luggage yet.

you can wear what you traveled in to dinner on the first night. The cruise lines realize that you might not get your luggage before dinner. Sneakers will be just fine.

I wear dockers and new clean sneakers on all casual nights. Long sleeve dress shirts.
