Default Dinner attire

Hi there!

I'm going on my first cruise on 3/9. It is an 8-day Carnival cruise. I understand there are 2 formal nights, but what is the dress code for dinner on the other nights? Please let me know so I know what to pack.

Congratulations on your first cruise. 8 days cruises are wonderful. Be prepared to become addicted!

Casual dinner attire in the dining room for men would be dockers type pants and collared shirt, ie hawaiian, button down or polo. For ladies, slacks & blouse or sweater, sundress, capris are even worn. The basic rule is no t-shirts, shorts, swimwear or ball caps at dinner. It is usually printed on the daily newsletter in your cabin in the dining section. Have a great time!

Have fun packing!! It is always fun to buy new stuff to wear on a cruise.

Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Courage and perserverance have a magical talisman; before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish into the air.

Pick your company wisely! Hang around people who are going to help you become all God created you to be.

I am not sure if you will have a semi-formal night on a Carnival cruise, check your brochure, your documents or the FAQ section on the Carnival web site. You will have two formal nights.

FYI- no semi-formal on Carnival. What CA cruiser said is the standard casual night "uniform". To save on packing/spending, try to mix and match some items. Have a fun time!!!!!
