Default Skinny Jeans~ What Do You Think??

Skinny Jeans~ the new big trend. I would wear them to the pool or on port days. Or, I guess anywhere else that you would wear jeans. But, what do you think? Would you wear them or do you own a pair?

I am including a picture of a pair of cute cropped skinny jeans for anyone who has not seen them...

I'm not sure where your cruising to but in the Southern Caribbean that seems like too much clothes to me. Its hot down there. But then it doesn't bother some people. They look like crop pants to me. Go for it.

its total personal preference - if you have the figure to pull it off then why not.
I agree that it is way to hot in the Caribbean to wear jeans - unless its jean shorts, skirt or a dress. Think lightweight, breezy, flowing natural fabrics. You would be way to hot wearing jeans of any kind in port. An on most cruise lines jean pants are not allowed in the main dining rooms or alternative restaurants at night. Ok during the day.

I agree that it is way too hot for jeans in the Caribbean. The last time dh wore them there, 20 years ago, he got prickly heat. Not a pretty sight.

I took a horseback riding excursion in Cozumel. They suggested wearing jeans. I had to borrow a pair from my sister. I would suggest taking a dark pair for something like that since the horses are VERY dirty. My light jeans didn't look very good after the ride

I don't think it is a matter of body but fabric, if they are made out of the typical heavy denim, I wouldn't wear them in the Caribbean not even in January...tooo hot! If you planning on doing a horse back ride and they suggest jeans, I would say a pair of capris (that is what I would call these, denim capris) would suffice but if you feel you have to wear them, wear them.

Prickly heat....no fun at all! ewwwww lol

Those are cute. I'll have to check some out, but not for my cruise.

My daughter might wear them when she washes her car or tends to her garden.

I wonder why anyone assumed the poster was talking about a warm weather cruise. And wearing them to wash your car or garden? Although I'm almost 60, even I know that the skinny jeans are all the rage - if you have the cute figure for them. When people are asking for advice, it might be a good idea to not make assumptions (Caribbean) or think that we know all the latest fashions.

CLO.....latest fashion trend? I wouldn't be caught dead in jeans regardless of what color they are, skinny, bell bottoms, peg pants, adorned with crystals, holey, etc. Someone is constantly trying to update and change a basic utilitarian garment to keep it fresh and part of the latest fashion trend. Ho Hum.

Jeans a "utilitarian garment"? I guess they haven't been that in decades at least. My husband worked for a major jeans company for 25 years and they only started having financial difficulty when they didn't realize that for a lot of people (including some of my Boomer generation) jeans had become a fashion item. I only own two pairs and don't wear them very often but, when I do, it's for a certain look. I wouldn't take them on a cruise because I don't think they're versatile enough but I'm sure plenty of people do. Someone mentioned riding horses on a shore excursion. I used to ride and would never consider wearing anything other than long pants (not even cropped) for riding. I'd probably bring a pair that was ready for the trash bin and just discard them when finished. More room for shopping Without long pants, you would probably rub blisters on the uncovered parts of your legs. And whatever one wears riding is going to be too filthy for words.

Yes, fashion trend, just because you don't like them or wear them, does not diminish the standard wear of a vast majority of the world's population.

To take your statement a bit further, Oh look another ball gown, Ho Hum just a basic utilitarian dress with a couple of extra odds and ends.

Or, Oh look, the new fall tuxedos, Ho Hum, just another basic black jacket and trousers.

Why anyone thinks these types of clothes are both fun to wear and de rigeur for a cruise is beyond me, but It's so much fun to dress up.

Cheers,
Peter
