Hi we are going on our first Princess cruise in November to the caribbean. Just wondered how many formal nights there will be onboard and what the dress code will be for the other nights
How many days is your cruise? 3-4 days is usually one formal night. 7-8 day cruises two formal nights.
You can wear sundresses or slacks the other nights. Just dress them up a little and your all set.

On a 14 day cruise there will be 4 formal nights. You really only need 2 formal outfits. No one will remember what you wore before! DH needs a suit and a couple of shirts and ties.
The rest of the nights will be "country club casual". You can wear a sundress, slacks and a nice collared shirt, skirt and a top, etc. For DH, a pair of Docker type slacks and a collared polo shirt will be fine for casual nights.
You can't wear shorts, a bathing suit (with or without a cover-up), and, depending on the line, jeans in the dining room for dinner. During the day (breakfast and lunch) you can wear shorts or casual dress.
Have a wonderful cruise!

Hi we are going on our first Princess cruise in November to the caribbean. Just wondered how many formal nights there will be onboard and what the dress code will be for the other nights
Princess will send an information package, via your travel agent, as soon as you make your final payment with full details. For your planning purposes, though, I would expect three formal evenings and eleven "smart casual" evenings. The formal evenings probably will be the second evening, the next to last evening, and one evening about midway between.
In Princess's lingo, "smart casual" means evening casual -- a shirt with a collar and slacks (Dockers, etc.) for gentlemen and a top with a skirt (or slacks, if you must) for ladies, worn with dress shoes.
i am pretty sure that you will have 3 formal nights and the remaining will be country club/resort casual. That means no jeans, no sneakers, no shorts, t-shirts or bathing suits in the dining rooms during dinner hours.
Most men will wear dockers type pants with a polo or short sleeve sports shirt, hawaiian print shirts are also very popular. For the ladies - i live in sun or sheath dressess, with a pair of flat sandals or kitten heels. Dockers type or linen trousers with a nice blouse or a nice pair of capris with a sweater twin-set would be just fine.
Formal on Princess is: tux, suit or suit separates dress shirt, tie , dress shoes for men. For the ladies its:long gown, dress or long dress skirt with dressy, silky/sparkly top, dressy cocktail dress, dressy evening suit. Platazzo pants with a dressy, sparkly or brocade top is also very popular.
