Oct Boston to Bermuda/Caribbean

I'm sailing out of Boston the first week of October to Bermuda and then on to the Caribbean. I thought summer clothing (shorts, t-shirts, strappy cocktail dresses) would work because the weather would be warm. I'm reading about rough seas out of Boston, along with rain in Bermuda. I'm taking a windbreaker but am wondering if I need to take fall-type clothing as well.

Thanks for your input.

i would pack some casual pants, a sweater or sweatshirt just in case you do encounter cool days at sea or in port.

Oh, I had hoped summer wear would do the trick--less to pack--but I will pack some heavier clothing.

Thanks for your response.

Weather in Boston can be very unpredictable in October. One year, a friend came to visit during the first weekend of that month, we got an inch or so of snow on Saturday afternoon, with temperatures plunging into the 30's, then spent Sunday walking aound in our shirtsleeves with temperatures in the upper 70's.

Back in 2002 we left NY in late Sept for Bermuda and then returned to NY around Oct. 5- if I remember correctly.

In Bermuda the days hit around 80 and lows of 60. We went swimming and it was warm enough.

I did notice though a definite chill that last morning in NY (low was around 40that morning) before we debarked. I was glad I was wearing slacks and had packed a jacket-I needed them in NY.
