Default Formal Dress for Captain's Gala Dinner

I'm going on a Carnival cruise for seven days. Because it's my first cruise ever, I don't know if the dress that I have for formal night is ok for the event. My dress looks a bit like this one, except it is ivory/cream: http://cgi.ebay.com/very-pretty-ligh...QQcmdZViewItem

Is it just too much for a Carnival cruise, or would it be ok?

Your dress is absolutely lovely. It will be perfect.

Your dress is gorgeous. And, you can always go dressier than the cruise line says. They are specifying MINIMUM dress code. You will fit right in and feel beautiful to boot. Enjoy!

Cherie...it is absolutely perfect. I'm going to love reading your review when you return. Everyone has responded to all your questions with honesty and genuine concern, hopefully, you will discover that suggestions offered on these Boards were helpful because we really love to hear that someone has a great experience. We'll be thinking of you on your cruise, don't get so hung up on decorum that you're unhappy. It's so exciting being on the ship that you have to slow everything down a notch, take a deep breath, read your Capers and choose the events that appeal to you, you can't do them all, relax, have an absolute blast!!!
