What should teens wear for formal????

I am a teen and I am going on a cruise in Feburary. I am going on the sovereign of the seas and I don't know what kind of dress I should wear for a formal night. Can it be long or short, have straps or be strapless, certain colors...........Help Please!!!

The dress standard for teens is exactly the same as for adults unless the cruise line explicitly prescribes a different standard (but I'm not aware of any that do). For the formal evenings, you can wear a "prom dress" or a "bridesmaid's dress" if you have one. If not, a "party dress" that you might wear to a special occasion, such as a wedding or an anniversary party, certainly would be appropriate. Either short, like a cocktail dress, or long, like an evening gown, is fine. Perhaps you can come up with a couple sets of jewelry and accessories to create a different "look" for each "formal" evening.

Norm gave you some very good advise. Your formal dress can be long or short, any color you want. It can be simple or fancy depends upon you. I don't know if the stores will have prom dressess in stock in time for your cruise. A great place to find pretty formal dressess is www.bluefly.com. If you have a pretty party, wedding dress that would do you just fine.
