Default Military Uniforms - Table of Equivalence

Everybody,

On another board, "IrishShark" posted a link to the Table of Uniform Equivalence for military and naval personnel. This is the table that determines the appropriate uniform to wear to a social function based upon the attire prescribed for civilian personnel (or, conversely, determines the appropriate attire for civilians attending a military or naval function based upon the uniform prescribed for military or naval participants).

And your point was.....

You just added confusion and this is posted from an ex military person. That link relates to serving personnel and how they should dress to present the “military at “whatever....and not how people on a cruise ship should dress.

Perhaps the point that you are missing is that it's quite proper for military and naval personnel on active duty may wear the uniform that corresponds to the attire prescribed for civilians for social occasions. Indeed, there are several threads on this board pertaining to this subject. Military and naval personnel who wish to wear their uniforms during a cruise (on the "formal" evenings, for example) will need to refer to the table in the original post to determine the proper uniform to wear on those occasions.
