Default January Cruise

I am going on a five day cruise aboard Carnival Fantasy to Cozumel and Costa Maya. As a first time cruiser, I have a few questions. Appropriate attire and weather??? Thanks!

The weather will be quite warm since these destinations are in the tropics, so shorts are appropriate during the daytime. Your pre-cruise documentation package, which you'll receive from your travel agent some time after you make your final payment, will have details on Carnival's evening dress codes.

If this is your first cruise, you might want to check out the packing lists in the first post of the "Packing Made Simple" thread. You will need to reduce the quantities (the 15's become 6's) for the length of your cruise and make a few adaptations for the differences in evening dress, but it's a good starting point.

Norm.

your weather should be nice and warm, even hot. For daytime wear onboard the ship you will most likely spend the better part of your day in your bathing suit, you will need a cover-up water sandals, sneakers, as the decks can get warm out in the sun. Shorts with t-shirt, tanks, halters are fine for excursions, you will need a good pair of walking sneakers. For casual evenings i always go with a sundress and a pair of low-heel sandals, capris and a nice top or trousers with a nice blouse would work well. Formal nights - long evening dress, dressy cocktail dress, dressy dinner suit.

For the day & evenings other than formal night think casual wear.It may be too warm and humid for any kind of pants. One more thing,do take the "fashion police" to seriously !
