I just read a tip for packing. Put small items such as socks in shoes. Two items in one space.

It's also a great place for placing worn undies and other small items. It really works well with men's shoes. We also use a thin, plastic grocery bag to put the items in before placing in the shoes.

The bigger the feet the more stuff you can put in the shoes.

I do that with small toiletry items too-I stuff everything into every crevice I can find to save room!

I also use those space saver bags and love them.

I also had a friend who packed her rum in her checked luggage due to the 3 oz rule...and packed her dirty underwear in the box with the rum. She wrote on the outside "This contains rum, and dirty underwear. Please do not lose. Thanks." I'm sure they got a big kick out of it! But hey, she saved room...

stuffing socks into shoes also has another plus, if you put the dress socks in with the dress shoes, then you are coordinated for the evening! I also use the ziploc type bags, stuff them full with socks, i also do this with undies and t-shirts,squish out all the air and just toss them in your suitcase

Eewww! I don't like the smell of dirty feet in my shoes and you want to put dirty underwear in them also? Yech

What is even better is that my shoes fit inside my husbands shoes and then I fill my shoes with our meds, travel clock, stud sets, etc.
