Depends on which cruiseline you are talking about and where on the ship you want to wear your jeans. Most time they will be fine but there could be exceptions.

You would do well to read up on the expectations of the different cruise lines. Carnival, you're probably okay, Celebrity, no. BTW, for Hawaii or the Caribbean blue jeans are going to be too warm anyway. If you're not interested in dining in the formal dining room but are okay with just doing the buffet, it doesn't matter what you wear. Clean, neat, no holes etc. are always required.

It really does depend on the cruise line. We have cruised seven times with Cunard. No Jeans allowed. However Ok on Holland America.

That's always good. BTW for Formal nights Ross has great deals on Dresses I got mine for $20. I tried it on and was a little concerned about how much cleavage it shows but hey you only go around once. If you got em might as well show em.

I live in jeans too as I'm a professional painter and even wear dressed up jeans to go to openings. As soon as we booked our cruise I was all over the "Whooo, reason to go buy some dresses!" Fortunately my husband doesn't pay my credit card bills so he's not complaining.
He's an artist as well and can you believe in the 15 years we've been married I've never seen the man wear a tie?

Because some cruise lines differ from others in terms of dress code, it's best that you do a little research on dress code with the appropriate cruise line..

Most cruiselines require "business casual" in the dining room. NO jeans NO shorts. I live in jeans as well but not when I cruise. Anyway, you might feel out of place because no one wears jeans unless it's disembarkation. You'll manage.

On NCL blue jeans are acceptable in all restaurants except one main dining room.

Take care,
Mike

If you "live in jeans" you'll probably not be happy on a cruise that doesn't permit them, so I would read carefully before booking. Most lines with assigned dining don't permit jeans at dinner.

Maybe you should consider a beach condo vacation?
