Clothes for men on Non Formal Nights

Hi there all you professional cruisers. I have not cruised for about five years so the memory is a bit lost. We have a 36 day Dawn Princess cruise around the Pacific coming up next month. Some help on the following please. On non Formal evenings do men have to wear a jacket to diner and would short sleeve business style shirt be acceptable.

thats an easy one, on non-formal(casual) nights- dockers/chino type pants with a polo, button-down or hawaiian print shirt(especially on island nite), and casual shoes
