Default irons not allowed?

I read on one of the forums that cruise ships do not allow irons onboard. is this true? What about hand-held steamers? Do they work? Traveling for nearly three weeks - how does one keep from looking wrinkled the entire time?

If your sailing on Carnival, they have laundry rooms with ironing boards on them. If not, I suggest you pick up Downey wrinkle releaser. You can spray your close and let them hang in the shower. It really does work.

Try packing those clothes in the plastic cleaner bags, helps reduce or eliminate wrinkles. I did think that steamers were OK, unless that has changed. Both Carnival and Princess have the self service laundry rooms with ironing boards and irons, so leave the iron at home.

Try one of the travel steamers like you find in the luggage section at Wal-Mart.......I have one, and though they take a few minutes(about 10-15) to heat up, they do seem to work well.

you have quite a few options, yes steamers are allowed. depending upon which line you are sailing on they might have a self-service laundry room with an iron, you can always have your outfit sent out to be pressed for a fee, you can use the wrinkle release spray, or you can steam the wrinkles out the old-fashioned way by hanging your outfit in the bathroom and turning on the shower full-hot. Dry cleaning bags do work great, the best thing to do is to take a few minutes once your bags arrive at your room to unpack and hang your clothes up in the closet

the cabin bathrooms are so small and the steam does work pretty good for lightly wrinkled clothes!
