ok, I can see how packing for a short trip with just a carry on can be done. But what do you ladies do about things like a shaver or a razor.
I am not a hairy gal, but I like to keep my underarms and legs hair free
Just wondering
They always have shavers and other things in the bathrooms in the cabin. No need to pack it.

With the travel restrictions these days, you almost need to have checked luggage. I've never had razors in any bathrooms on a cruise ship?? I also like to bring deoderant and shampoo, all that needs to be in checked luggage...
I've had them on every cruise I've been on. HAHA I guess I got lucky. razors are not restricted items. I picked up TSA travel sized (3 oz) containers that I put my hair products in. They save a lot of space.

Here is the list. It appears the blades are prohibited, but not the razor itself. You can just find a drug store and pick some up once you have landed. What port are you flying to? http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtrav...ted-items.shtm

The only type of razor that is officially restricted is a straight razor, but due to the danger involved in using one, it is only legal for barber shops to really own one, though in some areas private individuals are overlooked. I would suggest though, not traveling with a bag of disposable razors but rather a permanent one with disposable razor heads. They tend to be more effective for both men and women(the Venus is the women's version) and each one lasts last about 4-5 times as long as an entire bag of disposable razors, making them well worth their weight in gold. Also the razor holder usually has a snap in place on the back for 4 refill cartridges. Just something to think about, especially with a cruise where there is a premium of packing space.
I use a refillable razor at home but buy disposables for vacations. I guess I've been lucky as well cuz my cabin on cruises have always had a basket of goodies in the bathroom including razor

This is completely wrong...unless you live in some country that Im unaware of that restricts them, the US not being one.
There is nothing illegal about having/owning a straight razor. In fact many men use them and travel with them, albeit in the checked luggage. They are coming back. The disposable head razors are ok it's the double edge safety razors like I use that must go in checked luggage.

In many localities in the United States a straight razor is against the law to own unless you are a licensed barber. I am very much aware of the law.
Please elaborate.
Im completely unaware of any such law.
Maybe you should share your percieved knowledge at Badger and Blade.com or shavemayface.com to make sure all those folks there arent breaking the law.
In fact, I may be wrong as Im not a straight razor guy, it is illegal for a barber to use what is normally refered to as a straight razor in the US as there is no way to really sterilize it between customers there for what most think is a straight razor actually has a disposable blade.
Brad this is the second post in one day Ive found you posting stuff that really isnt factual.
