Formal night dress poll

Hi All I'm looking at formal night dresses again. Anyway I thought I would put up a formal night dress poll. Which dress do you like best for someone who is 5 feet 1 inch tall?

I was thinking D was a little to mature for me. Plus I like to show off the twins and the neck is to high on that dress. I do love the color of A, but it may be to long for me. Cutiecat knows, when you are short sometimes floor length makes you look shorter. These are all Nordstorms dresses. They always have a better selection on line then in the store. I'm wondering if Nordstorms could shorten the length on the blue one (dress A) a bit so it's the length of D.

i know that dress a would make me look as wide as a barn because of the way the lines are on it. that's why i like b and c so much. d is too old for me to wear.

i think b would look fabulous on you, and c too, with the right heels. i look great in floor length dresses lol but only because i wear heels!

I do like the draping of B, plus the color is so pretty. I have some shoes that would look great with it. I can't walk in heels that are too high so that limits things. Unless I want to fall on my bass, but that would ruin the dress.

I like B !! And I'm only 4'11" & agree, some long dresses do make you look shorter. If you aren't pleased with the color, see if you have it different one....

B and C with the definition under the breast, elongates the figure....the top & bottom one will cut you in half....I vote for for B!

I love the color of A, but the style of C. C gets my vote. Happy shopping and cruising!

They are all beautiful. I vote for A or B. If you have A shorten, it might not have the flow you want. I do love the color of A. I would order both and see which one you like best. Send the other one back.

I think I want to go down to the store and see what they have in stock.

I love the color ad neckline of A, but I feel the design throught the hips will make my hips look wide.

I again love the neckline of B and the rhinestones beige/gold tone shoes that might match. But it hard to be sure of the color from a picture.

I do love the design of C, but I feel my bra strap would be showing all night. In my cup size they don't make strapless or clear strap bras. I'm trying to hold on to my youth by my fingertips so I don't want anything that makes me look older. Or my age so D is out. 22 votes and only 2 voted for D so I think that is a mis step on my part. Althought I think the models bad hair is part of the problem. If her hair was in loose ringlets the dress would look a bit younger and softer.

I just looked and dress B comes in black also. I have shoes that would match that perfect.

B & C are my favorites, but I chose B. If you are on the petite side, a longer gown might engulf you. B will show more leg and give you more height. They are all lovely, however!

You look absolutely awesome in all of those dresses. While I agree with the others, D is for someone much older than you, I think you ought to pick the dress that makes YOU feel like you could walk on water.

Sadly dress B was sold out in the black and eggplant in my size. So I went down to Nordstroms and they didn't have any of the other dresses in stock. While I was at the mall I headed over to Jcpenney and there was this cute eggplant dress with an empire waist and lace bodice with matching lace jacket. It is suppose to be tea length, but on me it was a perfect floor length. Plus the dress was 40% off. Since only the bodice is lace it draws the eye up and brings in the waist. This picture doesn't do the dress justice, plus mine is eggplant not navy.

This dress is very close to the style the color is wrong and it's longer, plus has a matching lace jacket.

I am sorryif I hurt your feelings but I learned a long time ago that if you asked how do I look or the equivalent that you might not like the answer. by the way my husband thinks you look real hot in all of them but he likes the blue one best

Sadly those aren't pictures of me, but a model on the Nordstorm's website. My mom is from Hawaii so I know what a "real" Muumuu looks like. So I refuse to take it as an insult Colorcrazie thanks for the support. Here is a real Hawaiian Muumuu, I'm to short for a Muumuu.

I love the "A" dress! my wife is 5' 1" and she wears full length gowns and I personally think that they are very pretty on her.

Katlady, I am sure whatever you choose will look great on you but don't let yourself be intimidated by your height. Many men like me think that short is sexy!

My GF has had found several formal dresses at Lord & Taylor, so that would be a great store to check out if you are looking for formalwear. On one occasion, we had to go to another location to get a dress in her size.

I have also noticed a lot of gorgeous formal dresses in the windows of Cache and DEB. A couple weeks ago, my GF hit the jackpot at DEB -- two dresses on clearance for ~60% off, plus a "get one for 50% off if you buy two" sale. The result was two stunning dresses for about $45.
