Triton,
That was good. I came out pretty well. I have a friend that I do most of my travel with. And If I didn't live in NorCal and she in SoCal I'd go pack for her before a trip. she is the worst packer I've ever known. As much as I coach her. She still over packs. But she also forgets essentials. And brings things she never wears.

Hey, as long as we all "get there"...that's what matters, right? I think it's time to bring the Delsey down from the attic, dust them off and begin the fun chore of packing!

I'm a perfect packer. I'm at least a perfect "selector". My wife actually puts the stuff in the cases (except carry-on). I am not allowed to pack anything because it will end up coming out looking like a prune.

I may try my best but in 30 years I have yet to master "wrinkle free packing". I can gently and diligently pack and it still wrinkles. Yes: I use the dry cleaner bags, tissue paper and I've tried the rolling method but alas no good.

It seems my wife just sticks the stuff in and it comes out looking great. It is frustrating.

Take care,
Mike

Fun and informative! I wish I had read this before going to Europe in 2002!! It was a NIGHTMARE because I had overpacked, and in France another man actually had to help me manhandle my suitcases, or we would have missed our train to CDG!! Now, I still like options, but I just mix 'n match!

A couple of cruises ago I discovered "Bundle Packing." Now I don't do anything but packing this way. I always have my husband try on what he wants to take (he does grumble) that way we don't end up with too many of some things and not enough of others. And I start gathering my trip stuff a week or so in advance. Bundle packing takes a lttle more time but you end up with far less wrinkles. Seems to work for us.
