Default Hats

I am wondering if anybody has any suggestions on style of hat to wear for a Caribbean cruise. I usually wear a small brimmed fedora where I live. Most men here weare baseball caps, trucker hats, or those god awful camo john deere hats. Just isn't my thing and I like a looser hat anyway. Plus I look great in a fedora. Any suggestions?

I have seen men wear fedora's on the ship. If you don't mind wearing it while wearing swim wear and on excursions then go for it. If your comfortable then thats really all that matters. It can get hot under the hat depending on where your going. I've seen people buy straw fedora's so the hat still provides shade and breathes.

Well, I would rather not wear a black felt fedora in the tropics. Too hot for it.

if that is your style, you enjoy wearing it and you feel comfortable wearing a fedora then go for it

Just be mindful that the winds on the ship could blow it right off your head and into the water. Don't bring your favorite because you could lose it.

I buy the $10 hats at Wal-Mart. Being that I live in a rural town in the south, we get plenty of straw hats(a few fedora and trilby style) during the summer. I really do not worry about losing a hat. If it was a Bailey or Kangol it would be different, as those brands tend to run on the more expensive side.

Ultimately wound up buying me a straw trilby style hat. Looks good and should be cool on my head too.

Fantastic.. Having a burnt head is not fun on vacation. Enjoy your cruise.

Enjoyed it immensely, especially Cozumel. We were also fortunate enough to have the best pianist(and certainly one of the most beautiful as well, and very possibly the craziest) in the fleet. Unfortunately, she is jumping ship and going over to NCL.
