I'll probably get flamed for this, but why do people think that their photos of their plates of food could possibly be interesting to others?? Just how many pictures can you lokk at of cheesescake? Steak? Vegetables, particularly asparagus! It's like taking a picture of someone's birthday cake; who really cares?? They're pretty much all the same! And don't even talk about towel animals! (ok, maybe if you're five years old). Why do people insist on posting these idiotic photos on line?
Obviously the shooters are tickled, happy, or astounded by what they see on the ship or and in ports. What make them happy, bores you. OK......
Bloggers for travel sites, take pictures of food, as I saw on the media cruise, I attended on the Magic. There are tons of people who want to see a beautifully presented plate.
Anyone it bothers, just click on by....

Actually, what made me post, was that I was looking at someone's cruise photos on Cruisemates & found 25 or 30 photos of food!!! Why don't they say "Food Photos of my cruise on......" If I want to see photos of food, then I'll Google "Food Photo Blog", & not look at someones cruise photos that are really pictures of someone's dinner! Or maybe they should say " Here's pictures of what I ate on my cruise". Again, I say, who cares!
Food is one of the biggest reasons that people love to cruise and love to see what they will be eating.
I will take a picture of a dish but far less than I once did. I want to enjoy the presentation and the taste and taking pictures is somewhat of a distraction to my enjoyment and may also be distracting to others.
On a cruise a few years ago we had a tablemate who wanted to take pictures of everyone's appetizers, entrees and desserts. We indulged her on the first night but kindly asked her to just take pictures of her husband's and her own food after the first course of the second night.
It's nice to get pictures of the different dishes but it can go overboard.
Take care,
Mike

I like Mike M's answer. Food is a big part of the cruise experience and the presentation is probably a big reason why people take pictures of the food. It is also interesting for people who have never cruised before to see pictures of what everyone is raving about.
Its excitement, it’s the personal experience, fine I don’t have a problem with that. I just wish most folks would post more pics of the reality of the cabin, a reality shot of the eating areas and how mobbed they can be, folks wandering around with a tray of once hot food trying to find a place to eat it, and the gut retching feeling of I am stressed. Now trying to eat but it’s taken me nearly 10 mins to find a place that we as a couple can sit and eat with my food now nearly cold.
That reality helps me think of the next ship that I want to be on

Why in the world would this bother you...My answer to you is, If you don't want to look at the photos then don't...If that makes people happy then let them...Its not a big deal...its more like you are nit-picking.
