In what movie did a character say..."It is I who must apologize to His Majesty about the loss of the fleet"? This was a true event...

Don't remember the name of the movie or the actor that said it, but I love the quote and use it often!

These are good! Keep 'em up!
Come on gang,,,I know someone knows this one. I'll give it a little more time, then if no one gets it, I'll give it to you.

"Treasure of the sierra madre" I will look on youtube for the clip.
If you hadn't said it, I would have. Now, here's a movie quote I absolutely love:

"If that ain't the truth, it should be."

EXCELLENT KatLady! Exactly right. Actually it's been used in a couple of other movies since that one was made, but you win the first prize!

You have all left out the best line ever, " We're going to need a bigger boat." My family uses that one all the time.

I think Bobby's: "It means, you, me, and Tommy are gonna be the power behind the throne, so to speak"

Is from O Brother Where art Thou.

Mehawk: I'm not sure. My first thought was Nelson but he won and died doing it.

Take care,
Mike

Is it just me, or does Mehawk's picture resemble Harvey Korman in that clip from Blazing Saddles?

Mike, the line was from Midway, after all the Japanese carriers are all sank and the Admiral is asked, how do we tell the Emperor. The Admiral speaks the line that he will tell him. I always liked that movie.

Katlady,

More Animal House stuff for you:

You're right about Kevin Bacon -- he got his movie start in this movie.

One of my favorite quotes: "My advice to you is to start drinking heavily."

Remember the character of Babs? Well, at the end of the credits, there's something about "next time you're in Hollywood, ask for Babs." John Landis, the director, began putting that at the end of all his movies.

And one last tidbit to tide you over for awhile. Tim Matheson who played the character of Otter, also had a role on the West Wing, as the Vice President -- who had a drinking problem back in college. (A little homage to Animal House!)

Admiral Yamamoto. I think Toshiro Mifune also played him in "Tora, Tora, Tora."

My connection to Kevin Bacon:

My niece got a kiss and autograph from
Nick Nolte when he was in town for the premiere of "Teachers."
He was in "48 Hours" with
Eddie Murphy who was on SNL with
John Belushi who was in "Animal House" with
Kevin Bacon.

My Niece>Nolte>Murphy>Belushi>Bacon. That's only five degrees. I was robbed!

Partial credit for "what do you mean you don't eat no meat, it's okay I will make you lamb" "It was the one armed man" isn't a quote from The Fugitive it was a trick question.

Mean Dean love the "Animal House" facts. Seahunks I love six degrees of Kevin Bacon no one will play with me anymore. John Wayne to Kevin Bacon in Two degrees.
John Wayne was in the Shootist with Ron Howard who directed Kevin Bacon in Apollo 13. I still got it.

"I want you to round up every vicious criminal and gunslinger in the west.

Take this down.

I want rustlers, cut throats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, con men, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswogglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass-kickers, ****-kickers and Methodists."

In the movie Guess who's coming to dinner towards the end when everyone is there for dinner and Spencer Tracy is contemplating all that has gone on and he realizes the truth about the situation he utters a great line in the movie. He simply says "Damn".

I think there was also a "of all the gin joints..." quote in Oceans 11, too.

He said, "The sheriff is getting nearer!"

And here's a hint for "If that ain't the truth, it should be." It was in a John Wayne movie.
