No damage to our buildings. We reside on a small farm, and the land really took a beating. Our roads, fields are a mess.Lot's of trees down, and debris all over the place.

Being on a farm do you have any animals?
Cattle,and horses.

I'm in Western Jersey close to PA we have many stables out here. Horse back riding is big here. Many folks own a horse but it is not cheap to pay for the stable. One of my clients told me she was paying $700. a month for her horse!

I had a few days that I just could not function.

Morning all I thought I would pop in. Someone came to my desk yesterday right before work ended and asked "how are you doing." I replied "only 142 hours of work before my cruise. I'm doing great." I just keep thing I have that much sick leave I could just call in sick before the cruise. If I did that Karma would get me and I would get sick for the cruise.

yep, usually if you call in sick or something then by golly you end up sick or sicker than you want to be - it doesn't pay to lie about being sick

When I was in the field I would call in "don't wanna come in, OK?"

Worked most of the time. It was the BS excuses that ticked 'em off.

But.....I worked around 60 to 80 hours a week.

You are 100% right on that..I hate the BS excuses...If my guys would just "man up" it would make it so much easier on them come raise time. 8) 8)

I like honesty also. Last year I had perfect attendance, and my boss knows that I can be counted on. It makes things easier for everyone.

You have sick leave that is cause of the union. 14 years I haircut no union, sick leave, and no retirement. However, sometimes I find the union annoying they do serve a purpose. I can retire someday cause I now work a union job.

However, they are a little like parasites they can't exist without the workers or the job so they feed off the business. I hate it when the union takes my union dues to support a poltical position or canidate. The union should not tell me who to vote for. The union is better served getting us (employees) the best possible contract. That along with handling employee/manager disputes is the only thing the union should spend my money on.

I hope everyone is having a good sunday, I'm still not out of the woods as far as my bug goes.
There is only a little more than 2 weeks untill my Hawaiian vacation comes up, so I have to get with the program.

I never flew with Jetblue but I'm thinking of booking Jetblue to Miami.
I like flying with Continental.
