Another beautiful day here - just the right temp this morning, will get to about 80 today with winds from the south - only makes me want to be on a cruise!! - only 104 more days !!!! (how depressing )

Where is TM? It looks like he is flying home tomorrow.

We are leaving Tuesday, 9/9, flying to Amsterdam where we will stay in a hotel until Friday, 9/12. We then will take the train to Heidelberg, Germany where we will be staying with family. On 9/16, we celebrate my father-in-law's 82nd birthday and the next day, Mrs TM and I fly to Lisbon, Portugal for a week's visit. We are lucky enough to have my cousin who has graciously offered to put us up in his home and drive us anywhere we want to visit. On 9/22, we fly back to Frankfurt, Germany, spend the night in a hotel, hopfully enjoy a nice German dinner and fly home the next day.

and once everyone gets back and gets going again in posting, I'll be taking a few days off going to So Dakota to see dd -

Hi gang...I'mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm back!!!

First of all, we had a wonderful trip. Experienced a lot, met wonderful people, and saw fabulous sights. Enjoyed great food, drank lots of beer in Germany and wine in Portugal.

I had not been to Portugal in 13 years and I was beginning to miss the country and its friendly people. Since it was Mrs TM's first trip there, she was very impressed and can't wait to return. We were staying with my very young 69 year old cousin who acts 39 and has the energy of a 29 year old. He was a very good guide and took us everywhere we wanted to go. As a matter of fact, the room we stayed in looked out on a medieval castle lit up at night. We also took in the third biggest caverns in Europe (Grutas de Mira de Aire) and of course Fatima, which Mrs TM always wanted to see. We also went to my three favorite places in Portugal which is Nazare, Alcobaca, and Batalha.

I want to thank Kat for posting all the fine pics of my trip and right on the money, because we were at all those places. And I would also like to thank everyone for their kind wishes.

Kat: I did try all those foods in Portugal and then some (probably have put on five pounds).

CQ: I even had a chance to experience Croatian cuisine in Germany and we were not disappointed.

P.S. Now I can enjoy Wine Down Wednesday.....since I did not go to work today, I will have an extra glass.

Hello "Mates". Y'all got to keep the "3 word game" going for a few days, as the lovely Mrs. Jones (Vita) and I are going up to Aiken South Carolina for a few days of relaxation, and weapons retraining. We'll be back next week, then start the short countdown to "Legend" Halloween cruise.

Welcome back TM!!! It sounds like you had a great trip. We went to Fatima on my family's trip to Lisbon 20 years ago. I will never forget it. We have some caverns here is up towards the mountains. We have been to Mercer and Moaning Caverns. I like Mercer Caverns better.
