Good Morning Gang,

We enjoyed a week of watching the Tour of California - I won't try to misspell any more city names. Booked a condo for our week in FL. Should be able to look out the kitchen window and watch the ships pull in and out of Port Canaveral.

My turn to be last

Pouring rain, wind is coming this afternoon so the RV will be shaking. I hate that!!

Minnie relaxing on a rainy day. She thinks she's a person and always sits like this until she falls down, about 15 minutes at a time. crazy dog!!

Good Morning Gang!! I'm late in my posting but had to sit thru a mandatory class on "Suicide Prevention" - for our mandatory Safety Stand Down Day - (working for the gov't we have strange things like this)
anyway, that took away some of the day. The best news, most of the guys will be gone all week!! (yeah) I'll be able to get a lot done while they are gone - (I'll feel like a mom when her kids are in school)

well, it's Monday and the sun is shining, and the temps are slowly climbing so this looks like the start of a great week.

Have a good one!!

The sun is shining here, but we have a brisk wind, so it feels a lot colder than it actually is. The good thing is that we had rain yesterday instead of the snow they had predicted.

TM - it's always nice to know that the snow season is about over - sure we might the occasional "surprise" spring snow storm but they usually/hopefully don't last long - you and CQ have had a lot of snow in your neck of the woods this season - we had some at the beginning but then it just got down right cold! and stayed that way - we could use some rain - don't need the snow!!

I hope you get some rain, it's much easier to deal with than snow.

Good night everyone.
Lets see how long I am last tonight.

It is very windy here with lots of rain. We even lost our satelite signal for TV due to heavy rain earlier today.

Good morning gang.

Happy tea tuesday.

CQ should be home by now, probably tired from all the dancing she did on her cruise.

I'm back and had a Wonderful cruise. OMG soooo much fun This cruise is right up there with my favorite Liberty cruise. I meet a few great fellow cruisers that were so much fun I could not stop laughing. I also meet a girl from Jersey that lives a half hour away from me so we will be getting together shortly.
The weather was great sunny and hot everyday alot different then my November cruise.
And of course the most important part for me is the Dancing and there was ALOT of it. 8)
My nickname on the ship was "Navigator Dancing Queen". Anywhere there was music I was dancing.

Hubs on the other hand did not like the cruise and it will be a while before he gets on another ship again.
My younger son of course loved the cruise he is addicted my older son is in no rush to get on another ship.

Now I have laundry, cleaning and work!! I don't know if I can get back to the routine!!!!

Hope the gang is well!

CQ - glad you're back and that you had fun!! Leave the family at home if they are "party poopers"!!! I'm sure some of the Gang would go along with you on a cruise!!

It's going to be a great Tues - the weather is acting more like Spring at least for today and tomorrorw - so I'll be outside at lunch walking and enjoying the wonderful day.

It's Fat Tuesday so enjoy those Iced Teas today!!!

Have a good one!

I'd volunteer but the DW would NOT be happy about that  besides nobody wants to see me dance.

I was lazy my sister gave me Beignet mix so I made those instead. They are pretty close just no yeast so a lot faster. I had them with coffee this morning.

Kathy I love the picture of you doggy he is so cute.

I have grammar class today, it's a great class just no computer access. Welcome back CQ I'm glad you had a great trip. I'm lucky my hubby likes to cruise.

Morning all,

CQ glad you had a good cruise.
I am so lucky my husband loves to cruise and has often called me from work and says Hey I booked a 3 day cruise to the Bahamas, got a great last minute deal. Can you be ready in 2 days!!
Before he hangs up I am upstairs with the suitcase out on the bed packing . then when he hangs up I am calling the dog sitter!!

I am smart enough NOT to ask how he is going to pay for it

Have a great day everyone,

kathy

Yes it does come in handy for those last minute cruises. No plane fares to pay, just hope in the car and go!!
Plus Florida residents get nice discounts on Disney cruises.
We have got a few cruises at half price

Good night everyone,

Kathy

That's another reason to move to Florida. Mrs. TM can't wait to move to a warm climate.

Good Morning TM and everyone else!! It's a bit humid here this morning but that's ok, the temps today are forecast for near 70 woo-hoo!! That'll make walking at lunch very nice - may not want to come back in to work!!
However, the nice weather is short lived - tonight we have a cold front moving in so it's hard to say what we'll get rain, snow, both - will have to wait and see.

47 more days til my "mini cruise" - can't wait to see what it's going to be like.

well, back to work - you all have a great day!!

I should move to Miami, Florida or San Diego, California.
I'm thinking Lakeland to Ocachobee (sp?) - that way you are about equdistant to Miami, FLL, Tampa, and Port Canaveral.
How many hours to each? I know nothing about Florida. Are these at a high risk from Hurricanes? Hurricanes are the only thing that make me nervous about Florida.

Howdy y'all, hope your having a good morning.

Bob, Lakeland is a very nice area. You can just hope on the freeway and get about anywhere in a decent amount of time. I have been there many times.

Katlady, just stay away from coastal towns if your worried about the storms.
A few years back when the 3 hurricanes came inland was extremely rare and by the time it got inland the winds and rains wernt that bad.
We were living in Poinciana at that time and all 3 came right over the top of us and we never even lost a shingle. Only one small shrub in the yars was uprooted.

Newer homes are built to withstand huge winds, I know my DH built homes there for almost 9 years. Its the mobile homes and old houses that go down.

The thing that is scary is the tornadoes that come now and then. 2 years ago they had a nasty one that came with 1/8th of amile from us and took down several houses and a large brick church was all gone accept the concrete slab at the base. 11 people died in that tornado. But many states get those Florida gets way less than most states do.

I figure out west we have earthquakes,Floods, and on the northern east coast they have deadly snow ans ice storms, Florida has hurricanes. Oklahoma area and Texas get tornados all the time.
You have to live some where. At least with Hurricanes you know well in advance they are coming and can prepare for them. You dont know when an earthquake will come.

I never worry about hurricanes. I have been through 3 bad ones but in a newer home it really wasnt a problem and the winds really didnt seem all that bad. Just kinda eerie when the eye comes over and it gets quiet.

I cant wait to get back to Florida, Hurricanes and all

we are suppose to get snow tomorrow!!! 2 to 7inches depending on your altitude. we are low so will probably only get 2 inches but that means we are going to be cold again. I hate the cold. It makes my old bones ache

Have a great day everyone,

Kathy

Kat - Lakeland is about half way between Orlando & Tampa, so about an hour to Tampa, two to Port Canaveral, and threo or four to Ft Lauderdale and a little further to Miami. I think to head south you might need to come back north a little to catch the turnpike, haven't mapped it out. Plus, I forgot it would be about four hours up to Jacksonville.

We lived in Cocoa (not far from the Beeline) for ten years and naver had a storm make landfall. We did have the occasionaly tornado, and a couple of storns that passed by on their way to North Carolina. It's been a while, but I don't remember any earthquakes while we were down there. One thing about a hurricane is that they don't sneak up on you, you know they are coming and you can get out of dodge - just look for the Weather Channel reporters and stay away from there.
