I have NEVER been bored. I allways have something to do. In the first months I was taking care of my mom. Now I can have a leisurely breakfast and read the newspaper on most days. We try to go and work out, there are trips to plan. One of our movie theaters has half price wednesdays for people over 55.

All in all, I would say that we have more than enough interests to keep us busy.

For our next cruise we are driving to Ft. Lauderdale instead of flying.

Again I assure you that boredom will not have a chanche to set in.

When you are retired if you need any sugestions you can PM me and I will be glad to help out.

Open Bar Friday. Today is not a furlough Friday so I'm going to work today. It only 5:17AM. I'm glad I work today because I'm behind, the furloughs cut into my work time. A judge made a ruling that would end furloughs for my department starting in April. However, the Governor is expected to appeal to a high court. I hate when things are up in the air like this.

Oh well I will just go with the flow, after all it's OPEN BAR FRIDAY.

Good Morning Gang - calling it a day - yep, put in 4 hours of work and that's it I'm done - the sun is shining, it's in the 60's and I'm not wasting such a great day in an office without windows!!

It's a nice sunny day here [but not too warm].

We are going to Foxwoods Casino this afternoon. Our neighbors can't wait any longer, so we have to do it now because two weeks from tomorrow we leave for our cruise.
We are driving to Ft. lauderdale this time but I still want to spend some pre-cruise time down there before we board the Oasis.

TC, someone who goes camping and rides horses will enjoy being retired.

This is my first cruise on the Oasis, but I hope that it won't be the last.
I will probably book another cruise soon. Right now I am looking at an eleven day Ultimate Caribbean on the Celebrity Equinox for april 2011.

TM too bad you did not win big but on the bright side good thing you did not loose much.

Retirement sounds real good and I would not get bored for sure.

Canceled two cruises the Dream in the summer and Solstice in Dec.
Will rebook but might have to change the week and maybe ship. The Dec. cruise we will hold off and book the last minute as of now many ships have a ton of cabins open. That is low season.


I'm glad Kat has a flashing Easter Bunny on her signature. I was never flashed by a Bunny before and he does have a big colorful egg.

I just got back from the Ballet. We saw Carmina Burana I knew nothing about this show going it. When they bought out the 30 live singers I knew it was going to be good. As I was watching I realized one of the dancers looked familiar. I love show So you think you can dance. This dancer was not this season, but the season before her name was Melissa Sandvig and she was in the ballet tonight. She is such a good dancer in person. Also the show had 3 featured opera singers (two male and one female) who were amazing. Here is a picture of Melissa from the tv show. I know CQ will recognize her. Oh another great thing about the ballet was the really tiny shorts the men wore. At one point 12 dancers were on stage and I remember thinking I have more body fat then these 12 dancers combined. :eek:

Enjoyed watching the cycling race Criterion International from Corsica this weekend. Beautiful scenery and and good racing. TM and Kat will be pleased to hear a Portuguese rider placed third and won the best young rider jersey. He rides for Radio Shack but his name escapes me. (The internet to the rescue - Tiago Machado is his name.)

This weekend was beautiful!:-D This is the best time of year to go riding in the National Forests, the Redbud trees are all in bloom down here, I'm sure if the temps stay in the 60/70 the Dogwoods will all be in bloom by next weekend. Beautiful weekend weather, and scenery in the woods ;-)

I hate that I have to work tomorrow, but I'll have that 4 day weekend for Easter though

Portugal in house. Sober Sunday works for me. Sounds like everyone had a good weekend. I have Monday off then Cesar Chavez day on 3/31/10 on Wednesday. Friday is up in the air. I may be off Furloughs. Alameda judge has declared furloughs of non general fund employees exceeds the Governor's authority. My department is funded by the Federal Government. If the Governor doesn't take the issue to a higher court I will be back to a full schedule. I think he will take it to a higher court. But I hope not. Ah working of the state is so interesting.

Kat, I am glad that you posted, because I wanted to tell you to make sure that the cows and chickens were well fed and rested, I believe thay just might have to come out tomorrow to do their dance.

Yet another full week for me - my employer doesn't believe in holiday so we have to make our own

TM, as a Hoosier I have to follow basketball - I think it's a law of some kind. My interest in cycling began in college. IU has a spring bicycle race called the Little 500 that was a huge deal. I began watching the Tour de France back in the 80s when ABC would give it a little time on the Wide World of Sports. I enjoy watching the international soccer tournaments like World Cup and EuroCup but can't seem to keep track of league play like you and Kat.
