Good Afternoon Gang! Happy tequila Thursday

...... and ..... I am officially retired Happy Dance time!

Since it's Tequila Thursday I thought dancing in undies would be appropriate

All the talk about cancer, makes me feel compelled to urge everyone to have a cancer screening done every year. I have lost my share of family and friends to cancer, and if caught early enough it can be stopped.

It is true that cancer is a horrible disease, but I have to say that Alzheimer's is right up there with it. For the patient it isn't so bad because they aren't really aware that they have it, but for the family it is horribly painful.

My heart goes out to anyone and everyone who has a loved one suffering from these or any terminal diseases.

well ..... happy tequila Thursday!

True to a degree except that cancer in many cases is fatal

Sometimes I wonder if they relly want to cure cancer, or do the big medical firms just want to make money treating people without curing them.
As for Alzheimer's, that is pretty bad also. I have first hand experience, because my MIL had it and now my mother has it.

I agree 100% re that . I wasn't downplaying Alzheimers ,I know how that can be for those afflicted as well as family members .

One of my very closest friends (my age) died from pancreatic cancer last year and with the passing of both of my parents from the disease I tend to wonder why there is not a cure

Life can be sad at times. there are many diseases to bring us grief.
That is why life is so precious and we have to enjoy everything that we can.

It's good to book our cruises and live life as fully as possible.

I will say that there have been times when the people who post here, ( The Last Gang ), have made things easier for me.

WoooooHooooo!! The dancing baby is in the house!! Congrats TC on retirement!!! You go girl!!

TM I also wonder the same. There is alot of money to be made in hospital stays, chemo, radiation etc. etc. Maybe nobody really can come up with a cure who really knows?
Alzheimer's is horrible too.

Even with all the different cancers Heart Disease is still the #1 killer in both men and women. Like TC said cancer screening and regular doctor appts is a must.

And of course everyone we can't forget the wonderful Colonoscopy :o every 5 years. :???:

On a happier note......Open Bar Friday is coming right up!!!

Have a wonderful evening everyone!

Default Cancer is being beaten

Sorry to hear of folks whose friends have died of cancer.

Pancreatic cancer is probably one of the worst types to have as ones survival rate is low. A lot, though has to do with catching it early.
Pancreatic Cancer Survival Rates

What is true though is a large majority of cancers are treatable and success rates have gone up since years ago.

As we get better with DNA research we will succeed

!
As a matter of fact, my dad beat colon cancer. He was lucky enough that they caught it just in time. He had the surgery done when he was 61 and had 18 good years untill he passed way due to a heart attack when he was 79.

I will try to take my next post to happier topics.

TM I like to hear stories of folks that have beat cancer!! Good thing it was caught early and corrected.

Henry nobody looks forward to that Colonoscopy appt. however it's one of those things that must be done.

Rob alot of cancers are treatable but so many are silent killers....symptoms appear when its stage 3 or 4.

Well enough talk for me on Cancer. I rather talk about that other C word!! (Cruise).....

Getting to Page 477 should be a piece of cake!!!

Live everyday to it's fullest!!!

My dad had cancer in 1979 and was cured in 1980, my father in law passed away from Prostate cancer, and my uncle has prostate cancer he seems to be doing well with it I think they caught it in time with him. My godmother's father had Alzheimer's disease. I understand how hard it is to care for a sick family member. My respect and prayers to all the caretakers.

On a bright note it's open bar (bra) Friday tomorrow.

My daughter is a Radiation Oncologist and sees a lot of folks come to a good recovery.
She likes her job because she can work with the patient and the family plus the whole Cancer Staff are supportive of each patient and ensuring their care is inplace..

I had a Colonoscopy last year and they did some repairs though the happy juice they give you make you think all is well.

Thank you
Yes, Victoria is lovely though right now it is cool at 16C
We live up near the University and its a 10 minute walk down to the beach.
Course our beach is more pebbles instead of sand.

10:13pst now

have a nice evening

I gree with Kat on both counts.

It is very nice to have another poster. I also love Victoria and Vancouver as well. When we did our cruise to Alaska, we spent 5 nights in Vancouver (where my cousin lives ), and one day we took the ferry to Victoria. That area is very picturesque. We met up with friends we had met on a Mexican Riviera cruise. Our friends took us around to show us the beauty of Victoria and we were very impressed and would love to go back again.

Maybe we will have to do another Alaska cruise.

To sum it up. Welcome aboard our thread Robh.

Good Morning Gang! Happy Open Bar (bra) Friday!

Welcome to Rob, enjoy your stay with us

Today is my first official retirement day ... and darn if I'm not up at 4:30 in the morning wide awake
How long does it take before your body clock lets you sleep late anyway?

Have a great day everyone ... I have to go decide what I don't feel like doing today ..

Good Morning Gang,

Wow it was a busy day - we are cranking along at breakneck speed.

TC congratulations on your retirement! Dancing babies everyday.

I began school work (teaching an on-line class again) last night. That puts me up to three jobs right now. Somebody has to pick up for the slackers like TM and TC <wink/>.

I agree with Bob the rest of us have to work for the slackers (TM & TC)

TC your body will adjust with your new schedule. No need to wake up so early now.

Kat I send you a Message over on FB. It's alittle long but I would appricate any info you can give me.

I guess I'm a temporary Slacker for now. Resting and posting today.

Hi CQ, since I'm not retired and I'm working today unlike some people (TM and TC). I can't access FB from work computer. I will take a look at the message tonight.

Speaking of tonight Sacramento has a football team yeah!! It's a new league called United Football League. Since the only other professional team out here is a basketball team (the Kings) and I don't like basketball we got season tickets. So today is the meeting and greet that is part of my season ticket package. I love football I hope the league does well. Here is the rooster for the Sacramento Mountain Lions. Go Cougars.
