Good Morning Gang,
We hope to move back to the water even before we retire. Like TM family ties are keeping us here now. When we lived in FL my wife would take the kids to school and drive out to the beach for her daily walk. She misses that a lot.
Henry, funny you should mention Carolina. Many Floridians head to NC for vacations. They like getting to the cool mountains in the summer and escaping the snowbirds in the winter. Our church had many snowbirds - so attendance began to grow after Thanksgiving and begin to shrink around Easter.

We will spend Thanksgiving in Myrtle Beach SC. But to move to, I find that I would fit better in the Florida lifestyle than in the Carolinas.

I grew up in a small town and often went camping. It is incredible to see the stars in an open sky. Sometimes I wish they could turn all the lights off when cruising - but I know that would not be safe, sigh. Maybe when we taking are sailing trip.

I wanted to post two more photos from my image search on the Mojave Desert.
They have a really big solar collector:
It it is one of the places airplanes go, when they don't go anywhere any more:

I think that there are are times during a cruise when lights could be dimmed a bit.

Snow
Well, they are hard to see when it is snowing
Surprise when you go south and it is dark at 6pm and light at 6am.
My wife was not amused when we first married and I asked her to get up and see the sun rise in Barbados.

Good Morning Gang,
Still sleepy. Rob - your wife didn't want to start her first full day of married life watching the sun rise? I thought women were romantic that way.
Have a church retreat tonight out in the boonies. Maybe we'll see some stars then. It was cold enough here that we sat in the hot tub last night watching the steam rise.

Happy friday everyone,
Well the first of our rain storms came through last night, now we have a break for a few hours before the big wind and rain storm comes through over the weekend. Not looking forward to that.
Will be gone all weekend, so have a good weekend everyone,
Kathy

Hey Gang!
TGIF - yep, country living is the best - I love to see the stars and the moon - OMG, the other morning the moon was huge (this was about 5:45 Central Daylight Time) I really just wanted to watch the moon and all the stars but unfortunately I was driving to work so that was not possible, but the weekends I force myself to get up early so I can be a stargazer and even at night I try to be outside to catch sight of the first star so I can make a wish - yeah, I'm still a kid at heart!!
Hey, have a great rest of the day and a wonderful weekend!!

You have to take a trip to the Southwest one of these days. I drove from San Diego, Ca. to Yuma, Az. and saw some beautiful sights.
