We are now booked on Freedom of the seas April 29, 2012 yeah. I can't wait this is my first cruise on one of the big ships. My last RCL cruise on in 1994 for my honeymoon.
Kat, congratulations on your cruise booking.

I have cruised twice on the Liberty (sister of the Freedom), and we enjoyed both cruises.

Not as much fun as your upcoming cruise on Allure.

Good afternoon gang

We were up late last night, so I got a late start to my day.

Happy tequila day to all the gang.

Good Morning Gang,

Another chilly day here. We had a little bit of snow while sitting in the hot tub last night. Not much of it is around this morning.

I bet Mrs. Henry has begun packing for there trip.

I think I need another cruise update. I know Henry leaves soon. I think TM also leaves soon. I don't want to miss the virtual cruises. It's raining over here today so I could use some Caribbean pictures.

My boss yesterday came over and gave me free tickets to a concert called Country Christmas. I like all music so I took my MIL along we have a great time. We saw Rodney Atkins, Craig Morgan, and Uncle Kracker. I really liked Craig Morgan. The other acts were excellent also, but Craig Morgan had a ton of energy on stage and was fun to watch. I got to bed after midnight then I got up this morning at 4:45AM and I'm at work. But it's friday so who cares I have coffee and a ton of work to keep me awake. Plus I never sleep that much anyway. Happy open Bra/Bar Friday.

I wish you and your friends a nice celebration, and a happy Hanukah to you and all the Jewish Cruisemates.

Thats the smart way to go .In hindsight we erred in just going a day before our cruise especially since snow is predicted for Dec.10 in NYC .

According to a weather prediction sight there will be showers in Jamaica ,NY on Dec.12 and occasional thunderstorms in Ft.Lauderdale on that date .

I've never been on a plane in anything but sunny weather daytime or clear weather night time .

Good Morning Gang,

Snow here - not quite enough to hide all the grass but they are predicting more. It is even on the concrete which had been too warm up until now for the snow to stay. I took some time yesterday and got about half of the the outdoor lights up. It looks like we may have a pause in that action as the remaining work will be on the roof.

Henry do you fly out of a New York or Long Island (is it Islip?) airport? I never believe weather reports more than a few days out. The weather predictions for our time in Venice were for thunderstorms - we had nothing but blue skies for three days.

We fly out of JFK .Its a direct flight to Ft.Lauderdale .The airport in Islip does not have , as far as I know direct flights .Its also better for us to fly out of JFK because my older daughter who will pick us up when we return works in Brooklyn and the JFK area is on her way home .

Good Saturday Evening Everyone....

Congrats to Kat and booking a cruise on the Freedom! Yay a countdown clock!!

Henry I hope the weather is good for you and NO snow. We cruised last December on the Oasis and there was a snow storm in the area on the way coming home. They cancelled a bunch of flights. Of course that was at the end of the cruise so we did not have to worry about catching a ship.
One thing I worry about when flying in the winter.

TM you are sooo lucky to be going on the Allure shortly.

Anyways I had a dream the other night that I was at the Miami airport waiting for my luggage and to board a Princess cruise. My luggage never came and the lady (spirit airlines) said it will take a week to get my luggage. I started screaming at her that I need my luggage NOW! I'm going on a cruise what will I do all week on the ship with none of my stuff.

Who was the cruiser in my dream?? Can't be me I don't scream at people. :o

I'm thinking this dream might be a sign either......

A. Don't fly to cruise...cruise from home port :-)
B. Don't fly with Spirit Airlines
C. Give Royal a rest and book a Princess cruise :o

Have a wonderful evening and rest of the weekend!!!

We don't fly to cruises very often. We normally drive to the port; Long Beach, San Pedro, San Francisco, and San Diego are all home ports for us. However, we wanted to cruise to the Caribbean so the ports are to far to drive to. My hubby wanted the Oasis, but Freedom of the Seas was cheaper and closer to Disney world/Universal Studios. We plan on doing the whole pre cruise thing. They are offering overtime at my work. So I'm hoping to pick up a few bucks to pay for the trip. CQ any tips for the ports: Labadee, Falmouth, Cozumel, and Grand Cayman. Any tips about the ship will be helpful. This is my first cruise on RCL since 1994. The ships have changed quite a bit since 1994. We got a Promenade Stateroom I thought that would be a cool way to see the parades.

Good Afternoon Gang,

No home ports for Indiana either. I did a map search one time, we are about 700 miles from several "home port" locations. Not particularly an easy drive.

CQ - I'm not a dream interpreter. We enjoyed our Princess cruise this summer. From mush of what I have heard avoiding Spirit might not be a bad idea. Besides buy the trip insurance and just get a new wardrobe when then lose that bag

CQ, you need to book a cruise on the Allure.
I just thought that I am going to feel strange going on the Allure before you.

Henry hanging out with friends after the cruise is not a bad idea.

Bob One day I want to do the princess 9 niter out of NY. Going on a cruise and not getting your luggage is some scarey stuff. I need my dresses, dance shoes and hair extentions....

Kat I don't blame you for doing most of your cruises from your home port. Flying is a B*tch at time. OMG Freedom sooo much to do you will have a blast. Never been to Falmouth, Labadee is a great day, Coz is my favorite always fun fun fun, and Grand Cayman sooo beautiful. ;-)

TM whats fair is fair since I have been on the Oasis first it is your turn to go on Allure first. And I want a full report when you guys get back.

Have a super sunday evening everyone!!!
