Feel better Kat!! that virus is going around big time. I had it for a week my son had it for 6 WEEKS!! I was pulling my hair out already no meds were helping him it had to run it's course!

TM what Vegas hotel did you stay at??? Sooo excited got center first row tickets for Carrot Top!! Yay!

I have stayed at Mandalay twice and also at Luxor. Many yeras ago I srayed at the Sands. The Sands no longer exists but I have a couple of souveniers.
As far as I am concerned most places on The Strip are OK to stay in. I would go for the best price.

CQ you actually gave the idea of trying a grasshopper. I enjoy them on a cruise.:-D Just thinking about it makes me want to book another cruise.

I took a nice nap this afternoon. I will have to add some alcoholic to my drink because a nice hot toddy some good today. It's pour down rain today. I like be sick while it's raining I didn't want to leave the house anyway.

CQ we stayed in New York New York. It was a pretty nice affordable hotel and in a good spot on the strip for walking around. However, the Fremont street experience is kind of far from it if you want to see the light show.

So I looked up Hot Toddy

1 tbsp honey
3/4 glass tea
2 shots brandy
1 slice lemon

Looks perfect.

Gang, I've never been to Vegas. Before all of this went down with my family I was talking with some of my family in California about meeting up with them either in Reno or Lake Tahoe rather than Vegas.

one of my daughters is getting married in september.

For next year my DW and I are going to Hawaii for our 15th anniversary and when I can I will have to find time for a cruise. It will be a Caribbean cruise leaving one of the Fl. ports.

Moiraine, I know that you are having a difficult day. I know what you are going through because my Mom's condition is getting worse every day. She sleeps most of the time and the only person she recognizes is my wife.

Life is what it is and we have little control.

We booked our Paris hotel (2 nights) last night. My DW was giddy. I think it cost her some sleep. Next on the list Cornwall UK then Edinburgh.

Bob, we stayed 2 nights in Paris in one of our trips to the Continent, and we had a great time. We enjoyed the sight-seeing, the food and we took a river-boat dinner cruise that was fabulous.

It was not cheap but we loved the experience.

TM, I am sorry your mom is getting worse, but as you said life is what it is. My mom lost her favorite cousin to dementia this last week.

Bob, I bet your DW was giddy! You'll have so much fun.

I'm thinking about looking at hotels in Miami today. I've never left out of Miami. What are some of the good hotels to look at? What are the taxi prices, if you guys know?

Lake Tahoe is nicer then Reno if you are still choosing between them. But Vegas is my favorite. Lake Tahoe has beautiful scenery you don't get in Reno.

I love Hawaii. My hubby and I keep looking at it for a cruise. But it's so expensive.

I have never been to Paris that sounds like a great trip. That's the fun part of traveling the exciting of a new experience. :-D

Kat, the Splendor is doing the Hawaii run in 2013, I think. Carnival always has good prices. Maybe take a look at that.

I'd really like to do Lake Tahoe one of these days but it's going to be a good while before that happens.
