Today was a great day at the beach. The ocean was calm and it was very warm.

It was a miserable day today as far as weather and because of the death of LeRoy Ellis . He was very close to one of my current friends when they were in HS .

My nephew is on this cruise. This is his second cruise. His last one was in 2008. I bet he is loving the water slide and the pizza. He is 13 years old now. Time flies.

It's interesting what you find out. since my B-day is this month I asked for Ancestry.com membership to track family tree. My mom got it for me. It's interest so far. Many thanks to the 1930 census for the population of Hawaii. Lots of interesting facts about my family in there.

My Great grand father (on my mom's side) owned a cattle ranch on Hawaii. He came from Portugal originally. Madeira Island in fact. I really really really hope I don't discover my parents are related cause that would suck. My dad is from Madeira Island and that island ain't that big.

Kat, there are enough people in Madeira and since your great-granfather went to Hawaii and your dad came directly from Madeira, it's not likely that your parents are related.

yeah - it gets a little scary when you see the same family names keep popping up. I have done most of my work on that website too - a little library research. There is a lot of ambiguous information on there, like kids being born before their parents. I scratch my head and wonder sometimes.

Some of those old records aren't the best. It's fun to discover these things. That fun one was finding my grandmother and grandfather listed with my uncle being only 3/4 old. My mom wasn't listed. I want to find the records of when my great grand father came from portugal to hawaii. But I was searching from Azores not Madiera so I will retry with better information.
