I hope the turkey turns out well.

My daughter will be here tomorrow. We are going to have a small meal here on Wednesday, and I'm leaving for my family that night. She has to go back to the university on Thursday morning because they have a game Friday. I hope she has plans with her friends for Thursday evening. The other half with eat with his family. I've been told I'm to make the candied yams for my bunch.

Thanksgiving is easy for me, since I don't have to cook.

My MIL is such a sweet lady I could see myself eating undercooked turkey just so she is not upset.I have one of those Creme Burlee blow torches maybe I will hide that in my purse just in case.

I'm back - we had a great time. I'll put together a review in a while. We went to Maho Beach in St. Martin, next to the airport. What a blast.
I haven't had time to scroll back. Does CQ have power? We met a couple from NJ that had left for their cruise having still not had electricity. I thought I heard there were still about 5K people without power and some in shelters.

Bob, was it still hot as hades in St. Maarten? It was the I just was sweat myself out of my clothes there.

LF - so sorry to hear of so much destruction in your town. Manual had given us some post storm updates.
Moiraine - I guess if you are going to sweat out of your clothes then St. Martin is the place to do it. The temps were probably in the mod to low 80s. Very nice I thought.

LF, I am so sorry to hear about your town. That is very sad indeed.

Bob, I think it was warmer than that the day I was there, or maybe it was just me. I had a great time, anyway.

My brother and I are supposed to go on a cruise on the Carnival Liberty in March but he's still not booked it yet. I've been looking at cruises on NCL. I can't stand not to have a cruise booked, even if it's a long ways out. I need something to look forward to in the future.

The hubby and I are starting to lose cruise points because we don't have anything booked. We both want a Hawaiian cruise, but it's so expensive.

Welcome back Bob sounds like you had a great cruise. I would love to go to Maho Beach the planes are crazy. I used Maho Beach in your vitural so I was reading your mind again.

It is very sad what the people of New York and the surrounding areas are dealing with in the aftermath of Sandy. I'm glad CQ and LF are safe, things can be replaced but loved ones can't.

I'm bring rice stuffing to thanksgiving at MIL's house. I already got the stuff I need. I'm sure the grocery store is crazy today. I will do a bit of Black Friday shopping I need to sneakers for Zumba and Big Five is having an awesome shoe sale. I don't touch Wal-mart or Best Buy on Black Friday those stores are crazy.

Not going near a store Friday if I can help it. My niece may talk me into it though, but I won't go in the morning. You'd have to shoot me. I'll be back in time to do Cyber Monday. I managed to order my daughter a North Face jacket for $90.00 this morning. I just hope she likes it.

Kat, you need to hurry up and book a cruise even if it's not Hawaii. If you ask me, go ahead and splurge if you can.

Moiraine wow you already started shopping with your daughters gift. Cyber Monday sounds good!! gotta keep the UPS guys busy!! Black Friday will never find CQ at the stores/malls.....I don't do crowds and lines... Instead I will go food shopping on Black Friday...the supermarkets are always empty that day and I can do my weekly shop with hardly anyone in the store....

And I will wish all a Happy Thanksgiving to you all and your families!!!

BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) A United Parcel Service driver helped seven people, including five kids, from the wreckage of a car in Beaufort County.
The Beaufort Gazette reported that the accident happened late Wednesday near the Harbor Island causeway.
Authorities say the car was partially submerged when the UPS truck driver stopped to help.
Eric Logan, 44, was on his route and saw the car crash as it went “airborne and hit the mud,” he told the newspaper.
Logan helped the five children out, then assisted the driver and another passenger.
After the ordeal was over, Logan continued on his UPS route he's had for 26 years.
But, before he left, he told the family: “Welcome to South Carolina.”
The family members were visiting from out of state and were taken to a hospital and treated and released. Their names were not released.
