CQ - $750 pp for airfare seems outrageous. I wouldn't pay that much for coach from Indy. You usually have much better fares out of NJ. That sounds like a "full fare" price with no discounts.

So I saw a cruise I won't be able to take, TA - FLL to Rome on Celebrity Silhouette, 15 days, 899 for a balcony. Checked open jaw a/f, nothing less than $2K. IT would literally be cheaper to book round trips and throw half of the tickets away - by 100s of dollars.

$750. Newark to FLL pp. In the $600's if I take odd ball flight times. I'm not into driving down to Florida....My max driving is 3 hours.

I'll keep on eye on the air each day it has to come down.....(I hope) When I check the seat availability 3/4 of the seats are still available. Would they fly the plane with so many seats still open. I'm thinking the prices have to come down. In the mean time I had to let my cabin go for the Allure. I'll rebook it though if the airfare comes down.

OMG!! 899. For a balcony on the Silhouette with a great itinerary that is awesome!! Flying to or from Europe is a killer..... remember the days when you can fly to europe round trip for $500....those days are long gone.

I've also have noticed some good deals on european cruises however once you add in the airfare it becomes a very expensive trip.

We have friends who cruise to and from Italy every year, but they have a house over there and stay for 4 months or so.

Mrs. TM's max is a little over an hour. So I have driven from Ct. to Fl. several times.
I just won't do it in the winter.

Yes it is but she gets be a passenger and I am the chauffeur. Once we drive past NJ the drive is quite smooth.

A few nights ago I was sitting in my living room watching tv .I fell asleep and fell off the chair .My son-in-law who was in the room ran and grabbed me .Had he not done so my head would have hit my coffee table and I likely would not be posting here now.

Since I lived in Connecticut for most of my life, this sure is quite disturbing.

I lived in Central Ct. about a 45 minute drive from Newtown, but since I have a son and two daughters who went to shool in Ct., I sure find this very shocking.

Good afternoon Gang

We are back home after spending a couple of nights withour friends in Daytona Beach.

We are all very sad about the shootings in CT. My daughter Jan is very sad because she spent a lot of time in Ct. schools. She has a Masters degree from Uconn and she has also worked as a substitute teacher untill she got the job that she wanted.

I am very happy that I am going to spend Christmas with my daughters and my son and my new SIL.

My daughter who is living with us is an Elementary school teacher .Its so difficult to believe the cruelty of people today.

Since 2012 is coming to an end before too long, I pray that 2013 will be more kind and more peaceful.
