Hi CQ.

We are a little more than an hour's drive to Disney. This will be my first visit. Mrs. TM has been there three times. We are going to stay a least three nights.
If I Really like it we will go back soon for a longer visit.

Hey gang the big game is almost upon us.

We made a lot of trips to Disney when we were FF residents. Do they still have resident rates during "off" months?

We will be staying in a timeshare that belongs to our friends who have a conda in Daytona a house in Myrtle beach and another house in Italy. They have six weeks of time share and we have stayed with them in several places. We have stayed int heir property in Italy as well.
They love to have company.

Bob, they still have the discount for Florida residents. I might end up becoming hooked with Disney.

We had a great day at Disney. We went to Animal Kingdom today and will do Epcot tomorrow.

Hey Gang,

Happy Tea Tuesday. Temps came up a little and melted most of our snow. Not exactly Disney weather but better than we had.

Happy Wine Down Wednesday! It will be a busy day, having the FIL and wife for lunch (sometime), the DW has a dr appointment then finally dinner with a small group of friends from church - and work.

Missing Moiraine's posts, she must be busy with her mother.

LF - did you see me @ Disney in 1970? I was the kid with the really thick glasses

Bob ,yes ,I did see you .You were likely wondering why I had very long sideburns .

I just spoke to the Director of the Roger Brown documentary .My name will appear in the credits and I will be receiving a DVD .

Hi Gang! I'm back. Well, my mom had to have emergency surgery. She got sick Thursday night with what was thought to be a GI bug at first. When she did not get to feeling better, she told me she was almost sure she was having a gall bladder attack. I told her to go to the ER. She refused...for days. The pain finally got so bad that she did, and had surgery and a hernia repair later that day. Although she woke up with breathing problems in recovery, she was raving she was not moving in with me, and even quoted me as a small child saying that I would not take care of her when she got old!

She has been pretty much a PITA since. She is currently in a step down unit in the hometown, where I've been until this afternoon trying to clean up her mess. Her landlady wasn't pleased with her but I think I've got her paid until my brother can move her. She says she will come but she does not want to. It's either here or the nursing home...but she wants plan C, her own place, which isn't really an option.

She continues to have breathing issues. She must have had something that we did not know about beforehand, and she may come home with oxygen.

Anyway, that's my news.

I really am enjoying Disney. It is much more fun tan I expected. As a matter of fact we are planned to go back next month.

Thanks guys. I'm going to try to get her on an antidepressant once she gets here. I'm pretty sure she'll drive me over the edge otherwise.

CQ, I feel for you dealing with Plan C. I hate it for anyone having to give up their independence but it's rough on the potential caregivers,too, especially when it's past time.

When we met and started dating ( 17 years ago ), the future Mrs. TM said that she allways dreamed of retiring in Florida. She would settle in any part of the state.
After we got married, I started to do research for several years. I did not want to go too far south and wanted a place that we could afford. I found a gem of a community. Palm Coast is a nice town with a great climate, where the summers are not bad at all and the rest of the year is very pleasant.
This area has not been hit by a hurricane in over 60 years, we are very close to Daytona and St. Augustine and not too far from Orlando.

Sorry if this is a little too long, but I love living in Palm Coast and I originally came to make Mrs. TM happy. Now you could not pry me away from here.

Good Morning Gang,

Happy Open Bar/Bra Friday. Decent weather here, yesterday we were in the mid 50s. Back to winter today. Batten down the hatches LF & CQ.

Moiraine, family is tough. Nobody wants to let on to their real conditions. We had the FIL & wife to lunch Wednesday. We could tell he was "putting on a happy face" but are sure things are not as good as he is saying they are. The DW's grandmother will have to be blasted out of her house. She stayed with us a week last year after a stroke and didn't know "how long we were going to make her stay."
