We will be in the Orlando area 9 hours in July .We are trying to decide if we should go to Epcot or the Kennedy Space Center .

Good afternoon Gang. It's been a very busy day. We finally got the rooms totally changed out. I still have to vacuum mom's new room but that's all. The hand rails for the shower are now installed. My brother will be down tomorrow to move her stuff in. She'll be here Saturday herself. All of my daughter's stuff is in her new room, although it's not completely unpacked.

Mom goes to see the surgeon tomorrow for her followup. I hope he'll give her something for nausea because she's still throwing up. I'm worried about her.

The kid leaves on a field trip tomorrow with the freshman architecture students going to St. Louis, Columbus, and Louisville.

LF - I would opt for the space center. Transit time from port to Epcot would probably be around 75 minutes each way with little traffic. Add time to enter and exit the park and the fact that you never really get the full advertised port time by the time the ship clears customs, etc. You really wouldn't get too much time in the park. There is so much to see I can't imagine teasing myself for 4 or 5 hours.

TM I know Oasis and Allure are sisters but did you like one more over the other??

Disney is fun....we have been doing Universal the last few years.

I loved the Doghouse on the Allure. But other than that plus different shows I liked them equally well.
I chose the Oasis for this april because I prefer the western itinerary and it coincides with our 15th. anniversary.

You can't go wrong with either ship.

I vote space center also because I really enjoyed it a lot. Very interest bus tour.

Your better half is always right. We went to Space center because I nag and we both enjoyed it more then Disney world. But we live in California and have been to Disneyland a ton of times. Nothing like the Space center here. They take you into the control room used during the 1969 moon landing so cool.

Good evening Gang. I've had a hell of a day. My brother brought my mom's stuff down. I was here wondering what to do with all of it when one of my aunts called to tell me that mom is in the hospital again. She went for her check up and the surgeon thinks that maybe one of her previously repaired hernia's has ruptured. She's having a scan now and may have to have emergency surgery tonight. I'm waiting for my aunt to call me back. When it rains, it really pours.

Thanks. She had the surgery. My aunt called to tell me that she came through the surgery all right. The surgeon said that she would have died within a week without the surgery. He was angry at the hospitalist for discharging mom from the hospital over the weekend. My aunt said he planned on keeping her this time until she is eating and drinking properly.

I'm planning on going up tomorrow for a few days and then will come back home and finish getting the place ready for her arrival. I hope this surgery will fix everything that is wrong.

Thanks, TM. I hope that this will do the trick. She has been sick for a solid two weeks now or a little over and has now had two surgeries. She's not a spring chicken, either. She has really had the wind taken out of her sails. It's high time she's on the mend.

Moiraine I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom's emergency surgery! I'm glad it went well. I hope her recovery goes well. Not an easy time for you and your family I can relate.

TM Yes you are right Oasis and Allure both excellent choices...Still eyeing those airfares....

Bob My first day of Training was supposed to be the day Nemo hit well I ended up not going so I went the next day for day two of training and that was it. They just emailed me a new training schedule yesterday and since I missed day one of training I have to start again from scratch so my new 1st day of training is now Monday...so I'll train all next week back to back training sessions. It will be a crazy busy week next week. Two pieces of info I never told them...1. I take time off for cruising/vacations 2. If there is a snowflake blowing in the wind I don't drive.

Luckily the job itself in only a few blocks from my house I can walk it if need be but the training sessions are an hour and 15 minutes away.

Happy Tequila Thursday and Valentine's Day (for those who celebrate it.)

We are excited here. The DD has an interview for a permanent job today. Signs continue that her temp work is slowing down so the timing is excellent.

Moiraine - glad they caught your mom's situation before you moved her. Will continue to pray.

CQ - good luck with your training. It is good to be close to work at times. Looks like I will be going to see my boss in about a month. That means a flight to CA. The DW wants to come and hang out at the pool, she will still be in cruise mode.

LF - full disclosure is that I think my former workplace is pretty cool.

We've been to Disneyland and I've been to the Johnson Space Center .
